Calvin Johnson: 'Madden 13' Voting Pushes Detroit Lions WR Closer to Curse
The Detroit Lions appear to be trending toward the upper echelon of the NFL, and now EA Sports could be setting them up for failure.
The video game manufacturer and ESPN have joined forces to give football fans the opportunity to vote for the player(s) that will grace the cover of the iconic Madden video game.
This format began last year, with Peyton Hillis winning the people’s vote for Madden 12.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Madden 13 is the newest edition of the football simulation, and Calvin Johnson is dominating the voting brackets in a fashion similar to his on-field prowess.
The field of 64 began with “play in” games of two players from each of the league’s 32 teams.
The Detroit Lions matchup of Matthew Stafford vs. Calvin Johnson was won by Calvin, and with the loss to his pitch-and-catch partner, Stafford avoided the wrath of the Madden curse.
What? You don’t believe in the curse of the rotund redhead?
Check out this link regarding the past Madden cover boys, starting in 2000 with the Lions' own Barry Sanders, and tell me again that it’s all just coincidence.
In Round 1, Johnson defeated Kansas City wide receiver Dwayne Bowe by the largest margin of the tournament, 92 percent to eight percent.
Round 2 was similar, as Megatron trucked the Texans' Arian Foster, 73 percent to 27 percent.
Now, Johnson is in the regional final facing off against Patriot tight end and Bibi Jones fan Rob Gronkowski.
Don’t let Johnson cut down the nets and head to the final four.
Your patriotic duty in this country is to vote for public representatives, whether they are local or national.
Your duty as a Lions fan is to ensure the biggest talent on the 53-man roster stays as far away from the Madden curse as possible.
Besides, what’s more patriotic than voting for an actual Patriot?
This is a call to arms; do your part, and vote here!
Even if you don’t believe in curses or jinxes, wouldn’t it be better to not tempt fate?
And while you’re there, why not give Aaron Rogers your vote as well. It couldn’t hurt, right?
