Max Browne to USC: Stud QB Is Perfect Heir Apparent to Matt Barkley
The USC Trojans just ensured that their string of excellent QB play will continue for the foreseeable future.
With incumbent starting QB Matt Barkley on the verge of starting a Heisman-hopeful senior season, the Trojans landed the player that will take his spot the following season.
QB Max Browne, of Skyline high school in Sammamish, Wash., announced Wednesday that he would be attending USC.
Mason Kelley of The Seattle Times reported the news.
According to Browne, "As more and more offers came in, I was able to evaluate schools, talk to a bunch of coaches and meet some great ones but, at this point, I've seen enough. It's time to pull the trigger so I can move on to Skyline football and winning another state title."
Browne is widely considered the top QB recruit for the 2013 class. He is a traditional pocket passer with good size, a very good arm, solid accuracy and deceptive elusiveness.
He will be able to step right into the system USC is running now and fit right in. In fact, he is on track to have a similar career as the QB he'll be replacing, Barkley.
As Kelley reported, "Browne is currently working toward graduating early so he can enroll at USC in time for spring football"—just like Barkley.
Browne has the skills to step in right away. He will be the starter as a true freshman, and he is on track to have a tremendous career.
