McDonald's All-American Game: 10 Players We Hope to See in Next Year's Game
The McDonald's All-American game always features the best college basketball recruits in the nation. Next year's edition will be no different.
The 2012 McDonald's All-American game featured two incredibly talented teams. The West squad earned the victory, led by super-recruit Shabazz Muhammad.
The 2013 McDonald's All-American game will feature the same level of talent, but with different players. The game, as always, will be heavy on athleticism and played at a frenetic pace.
Next year's game is still a ways away. But let's start looking at some of the prospects we hope to see on the floor.
BeeJay Anya
1 of 10BeeJay Anya is the No. 1 center in the 2013 class, according to scout.com.
Anya has a short, stocky frame, and he loves to carve out space in the paint. He is not a great athlete, but he makes up for it with toughness.
According to scout.com, Anya has a very long list of potential suitors. The list includes Maryland, Georgetown, Indiana and Florida, among others.
True centers do not come around every day anymore. Anya is a pure space-eater with a solid back-to-the-basket game.
The 2013 McDonald's All-American game will feature plenty of big men who can step out. It would be nice to see Anya provide a different element to the East's squad.
Keith Frazier
2 of 10Keith Frazier may be the best scorer in the 2013 recruiting class, according to scout.com.
Frazier has limitless three-point range and athleticism to boot. He is not a physical player, and must work on that before he gets to the next level.
It is always fun to see a player put on a show in the McDonald's All-American game. Frazier may not be the best recruit in the 2013 class, but he can score with anyone when he gets going.
Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida are listed as interested, among others.
Aaron Gordon
3 of 10Aaron Gordon (the younger brother of New Mexico star Drew Gordon) has been called the next Blake Griffin.
Gordon has the same skills as Griffin. He thrives in the open court because of his outstanding athleticism. He is a terrific rebounder and a thunderous finisher around the rim.
Like Griffin, Gordon does not have much range. He can hurt you from the mid-range but not much further, according to scout.com.
Arizona and Washington are the leaders for Gordon's services.
Troy Williams
4 of 10Troy Williams has narrowed his college choices to Kentucky, Georgetown and North Carolina, according to espn.com.
Williams is one of the most electric athletes in the 2013 recruiting class.
He runs the floor extremely well, and uses his length to his advantage. Williams is a great finisher from 15 feet and in.
Williams needs to work on his range, but he would thrive in Kentucky or North Carolina's up-tempo systems. He does not take possessions off, and he still has room to improve his overall game.
Nate Britt
5 of 10Nate Britt is committed to play his college ball for North Carolina. He is one of the best point guards in the 2013 recruiting class.
Britt is described as an excellent floor general who loves to win by scout.com. He loves to push the tempo and has great pass-ahead ability. That sounds like North Carolina basketball to me.
The McDonald's All-American game is always wide open and fast paced. Britt would be a perfect fit for this style.
Britt must get stronger, but he will fit nicely into the Tar Heel system.
Chris Walker
6 of 10Chris Walker is a 6'10'' small forward with a developing perimeter game. So far, he has offers from Florida and Florida State according to scout.com.
Walker is not a refined scorer, but his athleticism makes up the difference. If he develops an array of low-post moves, look out.
Players with Walker's athleticism and size combination do not grow on trees. He will excel in the open floor and be a force on the glass.
With some work, he will be even more than that.
Aaron Harrison
7 of 10Aaron Harrison is the top shooting guard in the 2013 recruiting class. Baylor, Kentucky, Texas, Maryland and Villanova are the five schools vying for his services.
Harrison has a big frame. This allows him to overpower small guards and work his way into the lane. He has tremendous finishing ability at the rim, and plays very aggressively.
Harrison is capable of scoring in bunches. His versatile skills will translate to the next level.
He could wind up being the most exciting player in next year's McDonald's All-American game.
Julius Randle
8 of 10Julius Randle is one of the best overall prospects in the 2013 recruiting class. Every major program in the nation is begging for his services.
Randle is a dominant low-post scorer because of his aggressive nature. He is very physical and has a feathery touch around the rim.
The McDonald's game features the best players in the nation. Randle is undoubtedly part of that group.
If Randle keeps improving, he is destined to be a star.
Andrew Harrison
9 of 10Andrew Harrison is the point guard version of his twin brother Aaron, whom I mentioned before. They are built the same, consider the same schools and are both extremely talented.
Andrew Harrison is a big point guard with the propensity to score the basketball. He uses his size to overpower smaller point guards and abuses them with his physical play.
He is an elite point guard because of his size, scoring and athleticism.
The McDonald's All-American game is always fun, but having a dynamic set of twins playing together would make it even more so.
Jabari Parker
10 of 10Jabari Parker is the best prospect in the 2013 class, according to scout.com.
Parker is a big wing player with huge scoring ability. He can beat you off the dribble, pull up for a jumper or spot up from beyond the arc.
Parker's ceiling has yet to be reached, and that makes him a scary prospect.
Every school seems to be chasing this elite player. Wing players with his skill set are incredibly sought after in today's college basketball world.
He could dominate the McDonald's All-American game, as well as the college game.
