WrestleMania 28: Why Undertaker's Streak Is Bad for WWE
While The Undertaker's 20-0 WrestleMania record has taken on a life of its own within the WWE world, there is no doubt that it has actually been to the detriment of the company.
It was about 10 years ago when WWE began keeping track of The Undertaker's undefeated WM streak . Since then, there have been many great matches for the Dead Man on the biggest stage WWE has to offer, especially the last four years.
The Streak has also created a lot of problems for the company. Undertaker and the creative team have tried to make this quite frankly pointless record into something bigger than even the WWE or World Heavyweight Titles.

Plus, Undertaker can no longer be put in matches at WrestleMania with a new star that can use the rub on pro wrestling's biggest stage.
Instead, WWE has to find the biggest possible name to put in the ring with Undertaker and make sure that the match is able to top—or at least come to close to topping—the previous year's.
Looking at the business model of WWE, the Streak is another reason that no one besides the Big Six (John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels) gets over as a money draw.
Undertaker can't put anyone over at WrestleMania now. Given the way WWE starts and stops pushes so frequently, the idea that a new star with a lot of potential would be able to defeat Undertaker on that stage and get pushed in a major way after is far-fetched.
Looking at it in a vacuum, the Streak is an entertaining way to sell a match, but it is not doing anything for the long-term health or success of the business.
You can't help but love what Triple H and Undertaker did at WrestleMania 28, but in the grand scheme of things, what did it really mean? Nothing. Both guys were already part-time wrestlers (and that's using the term loosely) who were over with the crowd.
The Streak has been entertaining for what it is, but, again, it has been more to the detriment of the company than a benefit.
