Texas Longhorns' New Nike Practice Jerseys Are Surprisingly Hideous
As the world awaits the unveiling of Nike's new NFL jerseys set to debut on April 3, pictures of the sports giant's new University of Texas practice jerseys for the football program have surfaced, and they are absolutely hideous.
I know these are just practice jerseys, but they are awful.
First of all, practice jerseys should be simple, and should not be overly designed.
Texas' practice shirts only need to be white and solid orange, so you can compete as teams in practice, then have uniform numbers.
That's it, nothing more, nothing less.
These new jerseys look like game uniforms. There was way too much thought put into these. In the end, it's really just another way for Nike and the school to make more money off of jerseys.
If these jerseys were to be worn in actual games on Saturdays, Texas would be the worst looking team in the Big 12. The design of the uniforms is atrocious. The body part of the jersey being one color and the shoulder area being a different one is not tasteful at all given the colors used.
The Longhorns' game day jerseys are perfect. They are simple and stylish and have not been changed much throughout the program's history.
I hope that Nike does not change Texas' game day jerseys because that would be a horrible decision.
If it isn't broke, there's no need to fix it.
