NBA Draft 2012: 5 Prospects Destined to Be Impact Stars

Matt ShetlerJun 4, 2018

With June's NBA draft approaching faster than anyone thinks, there are going to be a ton of very talented players making their NBA debuts next season.

While this draft is extraordinarily deep in talent and will produce more than a handful of good NBA players, only a few of these prospects have the chance to become impact stars at the professional level.

Here's a quick look at those guys who are destined to make an impact at the NBA level.

Anthony Davis, Kentucky

Davis is one of the best pro prospects to come around in a very long time. He's got a good enough offensive game down low, shooting over 63 percent from the floor during his freshman season at Kentucky.

While his offensive game is only going to get better through time, Davis will make a huge impact right away on the defensive end. His shot-blocking abilities are out of this world (4.6 BPG), but he will change almost every shot in the paint. On the defensive end of the floor alone, he's going to be a huge impact.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky

Kidd Gilchrist is an all around talent who's not just an explosive scorer, but excels in every aspect of the game. He's a very gifted athlete who has the ability to become a stat-sheet stuffer.

He will score, rebound and pass the ball, but he has the attitude required to be a shutdown defender as well. There's definitely big things ahead for MKG.

Perry Jones III, Baylor

Jones III has been a disappointment overall, but someone is going to get all that talent out of him on a consistent basis in the NBA.

He runs like a deer and can jump through the gym. Jones can score from anywhere on the court while also making an impact on the glass and the defensive end. All it's going to take is for someone to get that talent out of him.

Robinson's a warrior. He's NBA-ready and a physical specimen. He's as physically tough as he is athletic and will make a big impact in the NBA.

He has the ability to score on the block consistently as well as take his game way above the rim. He going to be a solid double-double guy for years to come, but most importantly, he's a leader and a winner.

Bradley Beal, Florida

Beal is a good perimeter shooter with the ability to become a great one. He's a guy that shoots well not only spotting up, but also coming off bounces and screens.

While his scoring gets him noticed, Beal's the complete package for a 2-guard. He's the best rebounding guard in this year's class and does a good job on the defensive end of the floor as well. It's that complete package that will make him an NBA star.
