McDonald's All-American Game 2012: Biggest Winners from Marquee Game

Tim DanielsJun 6, 2018

The McDonald's All-American Game provides college basketball fans with a chance to get an early glimpse at the next wave of stars about to invade arenas around the country. The showcase took place on Wednesday and several players had impressive showings.

Let's take a look at three prospects who helped themselves the most last night. All of them will make a major impact in college next fall.

Shabazz Muhammad

Muhammad was actually able to match the amazing hype surrounding him before the game. He's the nation's top recruit, according to Rivals, and still hasn't decided where he will be playing next season. For that reason, he had a lot to prove.

He scored 21 points in 22 minutes and grabbed six rebounds. Most importantly, he illustrated a willingness to take control of the game. That's a crucial attribute for any player who wants to be a star at the next level.

Kentucky and UNLV are among the teams still hoping to land the 6'6'' forward. Nothing they witnessed last night will change their opinion of him. If anything, they will push harder to get him.

Kyle Anderson

No prospect in the country is more intriguing than Anderson. Players who are 6'8'' and have plenty of experience playing point guard don't come around very often, but it helps his stock because most big men struggle with ball handling.

Not Anderson, who nearly picked up a triple-double against elite competition with 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. His versatility was on full display throughout the night. He can guard multiple positions and does so very effectively.

He's already committed to UCLA after receiving offers from a handful of schools. Don't be surprised if he leads the Bruins back to prominence.

Rasheed Sulaimon

Sulaimon wasn't as highly regarded as the other two players on this list heading into the game, but proved he can handle himself well on the big stage. He scored 18 points, including four three-point shots, and chipped in four assists in 20 minutes.

The Houston native has good size for the shooting guard position and should be a solid replacement for Austin Rivers at Duke, where he has already committed. Along with his outside shooting ability, he also plays solid defense.

After suffering a shocking loss in the NCAA tournament, the Blue Devils will hope Sulaimon can lead them deeper into next year's big dance.
