WrestleMania 28 Card: Superstars Who Would Have Made PPV More Intriguing
The WWE deserves credit for setting up one of the best WrestleMania lineups in a long time. From top to bottom there will be plenty of terrific matches. That said, there are some missing superstars who would have made the card even more intriguing.
Here are three big names that would have made the marquee pay-per-view unforgettable and ensured the show lived up to the massive hype.
Rey Mysterio

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Mysterio has been out since last summer due to injury, but there was some hope the fan favorite would be ready to return in time for WrestleMania. It turns out that timeline was a bit too optimistic. So, the show will have to go on without him.
He would have been a perfect addition to Team Teddy. He's a much larger draw than The Great Khali, and the company could have worked him back in slowly since nobody will have much ring time in the massive 12-man tag match.
Even though he's been gone for so long, he would have received a huge pop in Miami. His absence won't change his status as one of WWE's top faces.
Christian
Christian was originally on the card as a part of the tag team match, but was then he was included in an injury angle on Raw involving CM Punk. He's been battling his own injuries for months, and the storyline likely means he still hasn't fully recovered.
The star will make an appearance to induct his longtime friend Edge into the Hall of Fame, but it would have been great for him to add some star power to the battle for the brands. He's still one of the WWE's top workers.
Going from Christian to Drew McIntyre represents a major drop off, which will hurt the tag match. Luckily, they did add The Miz to give Team Johnny a main event heel.
Brodus Clay
After an extended absence, Clay returned with his new “Funkasaurus” gimmick and has been dominating jobbers ever since. For the character to succeed, however, he's eventually going to need more high-profile matches.
The best option for him would have been a singles match against a mid-card mainstay like Jack Swagger so he could gain a little credibility for his victory. Instead, he's been left off the card altogether, which raises some serious questions about the character's staying power.
He definitely adds to the entertainment level of any show he's on. A WrestleMania appearance would have provided the boost he needed while also showcasing him to the casual audience. It's a missed opportunity.
