NIT 2012 Schedule: Remaining TV Schedule for Tournament
The NIT tournament is winding down as we arrive to the semi-finals. Tonight will decide which two teams will play for the championship.
Both Final Four matchups, at Madison Square Garden, can be seen on ESPN 2 starting at 7 PM EST and the game will be called by Mike Patrick, Fran Fraschilla and Bill Raftery.
The first game features Stanford vs. UMass. Following that matchup, No. 1 seed Washington will take on the No. 6 seed Minnesota.
Both games are also available on ESPN 3D.
The winners of each game will face each other on March 29 at 7 PM. The game will be at Madison Square Garden again and can be seen on ESPN.
If exciting, high-paced basketball is what you are looking for then you should tune in tonight. UMass averages 77 points per game and have a deep team that loves to run the floor. They should be able to play their transition game easily against Stanford.
As for the Cardinals, they love to shoot the three and they have the capability to keep up with the high-scoring Minutemen.
Game No. 2 features the Washington Huskies—a team that some people thought should have been in the NCAA tournament. They have two NBA-bound players in Tony Wroten and Terrence Ross, who will be exciting to watch.
As for Minnesota, they are the Cinderella of the tournament as the No. 6 seed. The team has won each of their NIT games by an average margin of 11 points and look to continue their great run tonight in New York.
The NIT tournament may be glanced over by most, but tune into ESPN 2 and ESPN this week if you want to see some exciting basketball.
