McDonald's All-American Game 2012: Players Destined for NBA Stardom
The McDonald's All-American Game is loaded with players who will soon be seen on the courts of the NBA.
This is nothing new for this legendary battle of the nation's top high school stars. Alums of this event include Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. That's not a bad list.
He are three players from this year's event who have NBA star written all over them.
Shabazz Muhammad
At 6'6" and 215 pounds, Muhammad already has the body for the NBA. He also has the athleticism. He is fast, quick and can jump through the roof.
Muhammad is a solid ball handler and deadly in the open court or off pull-up mid-range jumpers.
He has shades o Bryant. Muhammad will be able to score in the NBA. He can get to the rim and finish and his mid-range came will keep defenders honest. He needs to work on his three-point shooting, but that will undoubtedly improve.
Kyle Anderson
Anderson is a 6'7" small forward with the ballhandling and passing skills of a point guard. The game seems to go at a slower pace for him.
He is not the most athletic player, but he is sneaky quick. He has a good jump shot, but needs to improve his three-point shooting. He is also a very good rebounder.
Anderson will be the type of player that fills up a stat sheet in multiple categories.
Isaiah Austin
Austin was an outstanding guard. Then he hit a serious growth spurt. He is now 7'0". He is still growing into his body, but he can still handle the ball.
He can also shoot, which makes him an impossible matchup on the perimeter.
Austin also has great instincts. This, and his height and leaping ability, make him an excellent shot blocker and rebounder.
He will have to add muscle to succeed down low in the NBA, but this should come with time, and he is already capable of being a force on the perimeter in the NBA.
