Fantasy Baseball Sleepers 2012: Ike Davis and Hot Sleepers That Won't Perform
Opening Day for Major League Baseball is quickly approaching, and fantasy baseball players around the world are scrambling to get the best team possible. Unfortunately, many of them will select a highly-touted sleeper pick, only to end up getting burned.
Lots of changes are sure to come throughout the course of the season, but finding a hidden gem in the draft will do wonders for your fantasy team.
However, there are some players that you must avoid. The hype is high for these guys, but the fact of the matter is they won't produce like you're hoping they will.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
That being said, here are some hot sleepers that won't perform well this season.
Ike Davis, 1B, New York Mets
In 2011, Davis had a .302 batting average, hit seven home runs and 25 RBI. He also played just 36 games last year because of an ankle injury.
Any player out there is subject to injury, but since Davis is returning from one, it's very possible he could get hurt again. Is that a risk you're willing to take? It's a gamble, and you're better off avoiding him.
Coming back from injury, Davis will have a hard time throughout the course of the year.
Devin Mesoraco, C, Cincinnati Reds
It's not 100 percent certain Mesoraco will be the starting catcher for the Reds this season, but his upside is better than his competition, Ryan Hanigan.
Mesoraco should be the starter, though, but he better not be your fantasy starter. The rookie will most certainly hit a snag during the year, or even flop big-time.
Mesoraco should be used as trade bait if you happen to have him on your team.
Brandon Morrow, SP, Toronto Blue Jays
A hot sleeper name at pitcher, Morrow should be passed on for a number of reasons.
While he has dominant stuff on the mound, his control issues have made him very disappointing over the years.
Plus, Morrow is in a very challenging division, and that will not bode well for him in 2012. His strikeout numbers had a huge jump up last season, but don't expect him to blow anyone out of the water this season.
