March Madness 2012 Schedule: Thursday's TV Schedule and Live Stream Info

Mike ChiariJun 3, 2018

As if the NCAA tournament hasn't been exciting already, things are really going to start getting interesting tonight as the Sweet 16 kicks off with four of the round's eight games taking place. That means that four teams will punch their respective tickets to the Elite Eight.

All four matchups look like they could potentially go either way, so Thursday's games could very well bust a few brackets. The usual suspects like Syracuse, Michigan State and Ohio State are looking for what seems like an annual bid to the Elite Eight, but unheralded teams like Louisville and Cincinnati have other ideas in mind.

It may not quite measure up to the first two days of March Madness with games on throughout the day, but tonight will be a great night for any college basketball fan. From roughly 7 p.m. ET until the wee hours of the night, you will have your pick of some fantastic college hoops games on CBS and TBS.

Here is all the information you need on when and where to catch Thursday's Sweet 16 games.

TV Schedule

No. 4 Wisconsin vs. No. 1 Syracuse - Thursday, March 22 at 7:15 p.m. ET (CBS)

No. 4 Louisville vs. No. 1 Michigan State - Thursday, March 22 at 7:47 p.m. ET (TBS)

No. 6 Cincinnati vs. No. 2 Ohio State - Thursday, March 22 at 9:45 p.m. ET (CBS)

No. 7 Florida vs. No. 3 Marquette - Thursday, March 22 at 10:17 p.m. ET (TBS)

Upset Watch: Marquette

As much as any of the four underdogs tonight could come out on top, the one that is playing best is No. 7 seed Florida. The Gators have romped past Virginia and Norfolk State in the first two rounds, and their three-guard attack of Kenny Boynton, Bradley Beal and Erving Walker looks very tough to stop. On top of that, Florida has received a nice interior presence from Patric Young.

Marquette has been impressive as well through its first two contests and it will pose a challenge to the Gators as it plays very rugged defense, but it's hard to imagine Florida being stopped in this one.

Florida is the preeminent three-point shooting team in the nation, and despite going cold from beyond the arc in the round of 64, it won easily. The shooting touch returned in the next round, though, and the results were spectacular. I expect more of the same in the Sweet 16.

Game of the Night: Wisconsin vs. Syracuse

In terms of a clash of styles, No. 4 Wisconsin taking on No. 1 Syracuse should be an entertaining battle. The Orange have found a way to persevere without the services of center Fab Melo, while the Badgers conquered some of their NCAA tournament demons with a win over Vanderbilt last round. It will be quite interesting to see which team is able to dictate the pace of the game.

Syracuse loves to turn its defense into offense as head coach Jim Boeheim looks for his squad to force turnovers with the zone defense and get out in transition. Wisconsin is very deliberate and careful on offense, though, and won't easily be snookered into making bad plays. If Bo Ryan's squad can be disciplined throughout the contest, Syracuse could be in danger of bowing out early.
