Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Continue Push for 2013 Class and Beyond
Every coach and program has their own method in recruiting, but whatever Brady Hoke is doing in Ann Arbor is quickly returning the Michigan Wolverines to prominence.
Following a surprise 11-2 season in 2011, Hoke and his staff reeled in a Top-10 recruiting class to build on for the future. The most impressive part was that the majority of that class was committed before the season even began.
With a BCS Bowl win now under Hoke's belt and in his recruiting arsenal, he's got the Wolverines right back in the same position.
At this time, approximately 10-plus months from singing day, the Wolverines already have 16 recruits committed for the 2013 class—and it looks to be even better than 2012.
Tim Sullivan of The Wolverine magazine and website of the same name (via the Detroit Free Press) reports that a number of recruits were on hand for the start of spring practice in Ann Arbor.
There weren't just 2013 recruits there, but 2012 kids who have already signed letters of intent, 2014 kids with interest and even 2015 kids.
The Wolverine fanbase, which was subjected to three ugly years under Rich Rodriguez that nearly doomed the program to the Big Ten basement, cannot ask for a more thorough job than the one Hoke and his staff are doing.
Not only have they turned this program around quickly, but they're stocking the shelves for what could well be a long and fruitful run at the top of the conference.
The Wolverines are finding success in every phase of the game both on and off the field. The way they're operating again this offseason shows that isn't just a flash, but something we should come to expect out of Ann Arbor each and every year.
