Check out the Cribs of These 7 Current and Former NFL Stars

Ryan PhillipsJun 4, 2018

Have you ever wanted to live in a multi-million dollar mansion like your favorite NFL superstar?

Well, now you've got the chance.

Our friends at Trulia.com passed along the homes of seven current and former NFL stars who have recently placed their homes on the open market.

Recession? What recession?

So, follow along as we look at some of the glitziest and most glamorous homes money can buy.

Troy Aikman's Highland Park Compound

1 of 7

Have you ever wanted to live in a 10,000-plus square foot house in Highland Park, Texas? Then look no further than this gem owned by none other than Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Troy Aikman.

This 1.45 acre lot is valued at a cool $24 million and is referred to as a "residential compound." Maybe it's just me but that sounds like the kind of place the leader of a separatist cult would inhabit, not a former NFL quarterback.

I know Aikman's head is still cloudy from all of those concussions he suffered when playing, but seven bathrooms? Really?

The listing claims the house is "impressive and livable." If I'm going to pay $2,281 per square foot to purchase the dang thing it better be both.

Walter Jones' Huntsville Homestead

2 of 7

Walter Jones was a nine-time Pro Bowler and a seven-time All-Pro for the Seattle Seahawks, and if you don't mind living in Huntsville, Alabama you can own his house for just $3.5 million!

It is a custom-built mansion that includes a Football Field, basketball and tennis courts, a pool, pool house, guest house, home theatre, game-room, gym and a six-car garage on a 14-acre plot of land. With those amenities it sounds like a high schooler designed it.

The 38-year-old Jones played his entire career in Seattle and was a rock at left tackle for the Seahawks.

And if you thought Aikman's bathroom problem was bad, Jones' house has nine (!!!!) full washrooms and three partials. I mean, who doesn't need 12 bathrooms in their house?

LaDainian Tomlinson's Poway Pad

3 of 7

LaDainian Tomlinson tore things up on the field for the San Diego Chargers during his nine-year run in America's Finest City. But after looking at where he was living, I'm shocked Tomlinson ever showed up for practice.

A 13-plus acre estate in Poway (a suburb of San Diego), Tomlinson's house is on the market for $4.9 million. It boasts "a resort quality/style pool, private theatre, outside cabana w/bbq, flat screen TVs, heaters, etc." A second parcel "has full size basketball court and tennis court, plus LT's famous hill!"

The hill referred to is a 25-yard stretch of dirt that Tomlinson would use as part of his extreme workout routine.

Tomlinson currently ranks fifth on the NFL's career rushing yards list (13,684), is second all-time in rushing touchdowns (145), and third in total touchdowns (162). But man did he score when he landed his gorgeous home. After spending any amount of time relaxing at that crib I'd be contemplating early retirement too.

Jerry Rice's Atherton Abode

4 of 7

Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver in NFL history, so naturally he has to have a mansion to match that level of talent, right? Well the 13-time Pro Bowler's $13.88 million Atherton, California estate is on the market and looks as beautiful as a perfectly-lofted Joe Montana touchdown pass.

Rice's 1.41-acre crib boasts "hi-tech luxury" and "Versace limestone floors." Clearly I'm poor because I have no idea what that even means.

I don't know why this seems to fascinate me, but Rice's house boasts eight full and three partial bathrooms, since the house is so big you could get lost and when you've got to go, you've got to go. So it's nice to have them around. Hey, when you've won three Super Bowls and are a two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year, you're allowed to have a lot of toilets in your home

His home theater, gym, sauna and seven-car garage nicely accent a pool and pool house that look just slightly amazing.

After seeing his mansion and taking the virtual tour of it I think it's safe to say Jerry Rice is the only 49-year-old man on the planet that I'm jealous of.

Michael Strahan's Los Angeles Layout

5 of 7

Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan has always had a big personality, and apparently he had a big house to fit it in.

Strahan's 9,200 square foot Los Angeles mansion is on the market, and can be yours for just $6.95 million. A "private Celebrity Villa set behind gates in prestigious Brentwood," this estate boasts six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, two powder rooms, a grand scale living room, raised ceilings and a fully-equipped chef's kitchen.

The master bedroom boasts a sitting area, fireplace, balcony, his and her baths, steam/dual shower and large his and her walk-in closets. Naturally there is a pool, spa and yard, "cozy theater room" separate maids quarters—because, let's face it, no one wants to fraternize with the help—and an elevator.

Strahan is a 40-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler who holds the NFL's single-season record for sacks (22.5), and boasts 141.5 career sacks. He's a big dude and obviously needs a big house. I have no idea why he would ever consider selling such an awesome piece of property.

Maybe Los Angeles just isn't the kind of town that can handle his flamboyant personality.

Joe Montana's Calistoga Crib

6 of 7

Joe Montana is an NFL Hall of Famer who owns four Super Bowl rings, was an eight-time Pro Bowler and a six-time All-Pro. Many (myself included) consider him to be the greatest quarterback of all-time and if you want the right to say you own his old house you're going to have to pony up some serious cash.

Montana's Calistoga, California mansion is now on the market for $35 million, but being able to say you live in his old house would be worth any amount of dough.

The lot is apparently a celebration of California's Wine Country and equestrian lifestyle. Whatever that means.

The not-so-creatively named "Villa Montana" has a guest house, caretaker's unit, pool, spa, private pond, basketball court, bocce ball court, skeet shooting range (why not?), an olive farm and professional grade equestrian stable.

You know how I know Montana is a true Hall of Famer? His house was 9,700 square feet and how many bathrooms does it possess? Three and a half. Efficiency on and off the field.

Terry Bradshaw's Bradenton Mansion

7 of 7

Terry Bradshaw is now more famous for his mouth than his football playing days, but the four-time Super Bowl champion and Pittsburgh Steelers' Hall of Famer still has a big house.

The most affordable of these listings, Bradshaw's Bradenton, Florida house is on the market for just $1.4 million.

At just $277 per square foot, Bradshaw's mansion seems downright affordable. Custom built in 2007 it has never been lived in, and boasts "an amazing pool area with elevated spa and outdoor fireplace for outdoor and evening relaxation and enjoyment." While the huge master suite has his and her baths and walk-in closets.

The mansion also has a detached guest suite.

The fact that Bradshaw had this place custom built and never lived in it all but proves what we already knew. He's not exactly a rocket scientist.

And for something in the neighborhood of $8,200 per month you could take advantage and make it yours.

Clearly Bradshaw is just trying to get rid of this place. Maybe Lynn Swann could bail him out. I mean, he's done it before
