College Football Recruiting 2013: Re-Ranking the Top 10 Quarterbacks

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

As I mentioned last month, with the evaluation period yet to arrive, many rankings and lists right now will be subject to constant change. Things really won't be close to being concrete until the fall, then they'll change again after the postseason all-star games.

However, right now, I'm going to re-visit my top 10 QB rankings and re-rank who I feel are the 10 best signal-callers right now for 2013.

Come inside and see who they are!

10. Cody Thomas

1 of 10

Thomas has drawn comparisons to Tony Pike, as he stands 6'5", 220 pounds. He's possesses very good delivery quickness, can get the football to targets in a hurry and has good poise.

Thomas tosses a catchable football to pass catchers and sees the field pretty well. Notre Dame, USC, Florida and Auburn have offered among others.

9. Troy Williams

2 of 10

At 6'1", 185 pounds, Williams does what he has to do to win. If he feels on one night that he must toss for a couple hundred yards, he'll do so. If the next week comes and Williams feels that he has to make plays with his legs, then that's what he'll do.

8. Johnathon McCrary

3 of 10

McCrary is a 6'3", 180-pounder that hails from Georgia. He's very athletic, has a great arm and can buy time in the pocket when things break down. McCrary has some rawness to his game, but his potential is grand.

He's committed to Vanderbilt.

7. Brice Ramsey

4 of 10

Ramsey is a 6'3", 190-pounder with a quick release, a huge arm and solid accuracy. He flashes the ability to see the field, but I think he needs some more reps to really hone his eyes and ability to process information quickly more.

However, he has a big time chance to be a big-time college QB. That college will indeed be Georgia.

6. Cooper Bateman

5 of 10

Now, arm strength is not a deciding factor in whether a QB will be good or not. Trust me. But if you're the type that values arm strength, then Cooper Bateman is your guy.

At 6'3", 205 pounds, this guy can push the football all over the field with velocity, revolutions, spin, sharpness and sheer strength. He gets the ball out quickly and in a flash.

Stanford is the only school that he doesn't hold an offer from.

5. Ryan Burns

6 of 10

At 6'5", 220 pounds, Burns has a quick delivery and the balls comes out of his hand crisp, sharp and on point. He can make all the throws, has a long frame to see over the rush and makes good decisions.

He flashes a good pocket presence, solid feet to evade the rush and has the makings of a classic pocket passer.

He's committed to Stanford.

4. Kevin Olsen

7 of 10

A New Jersey native, Olsen is a national caliber QB prospect at 6'3", 190 pounds. He shows excellent poise, rarely seems rattled and has excellent mechanics.

He stays tight and upright in the pocket, focuses on his progressions, is decisive with the football and can attack from outside the numbers to deep past the safeties. Olsen has great accuracy and is the brother of Panthers TE Greg Olsen.

He holds offers from many of the nation's elite programs.

3. Shane Morris

8 of 10

At 6'3", 190 pounds, Morris is a left-handed QB that has a strong arm to make any throw he is asked to. The accuracy portion of his skill set is still developing, but he has flashed some pinpoint throws down the field as a sophomore and junior.

Morris possesses quick feet, agility and great set-up quickness. I think, even as a pro-style guy, he can attack the edges and also make some drive saving runs.

He's committed to Michigan.

2. Tyrone Swoopes

9 of 10

Swoopes is a 6'5", 220-pound QB prospect with excellent athleticism, a strong arm and a good feel for the game.

There are a lot of Vince Young comparisons because of Swoopes' similar size, athletic ability and dual-threat skill set to how Young played the game in high school.

However, I think Swoopes has a chance to be a better passer than Young was and has a better delivery. He's committed to Texas, like Young.

1. Max Browne

10 of 10

At 6'5" and 200 pounds, Browne has solid drop-back quickness, can set up at any mark, shows good balance and has a very quick to easy delivery/release.

Browne's arm strength is solid, as he can change speeds, and his overall accuracy is a plus. He's the nation's No. 1 QB as I have moved him up to this notch since my last QB rankings.
