In what termed out to be a shootout, the No. 3 seeded Oregon Ducks beat the No. 7 seeded Iowa Hawkeyes 108-97 by scoring a whopping 61 points in the second half.
The 108 points were the most in a game for the Ducks since beating UC Riverside 108-67 back in 2002.
EJ Singler led the way with 25 points and Olu Ashaolu wasn’t too far behind with 22 points and both players collected six boards and four assists. The team shot an impressive 28-of-32 from the foul line and only committed 10 turnovers despite playing at such a frantic pace.
Roy Devyn Marble led the Hawkeyes with 31 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Next up for the Ducks is a date in the quarter finals against No. 1 seeded Washington.

No. 5 Nevada cruised to a 75-67 win over No. 8 Bucknell thanks in large part to the spectacular shooting of Olek Czyz.
He went 7-of-10 from the field in route to 24 points and also collected six boards. While Bucknell focused their efforts on stopping leading scorer Deonte Burton, who only finished with 10, Czyz took full advantage.
Nevada jumped out to a 13-point lead at halftime, but it was cut down to three with 44.6 seconds remaining. A Bison three-pointer by Bryson Johnson rimmed out with 33 seconds remaining and that was all she wrote.
Next up is a date with the winner of Monday’s Illinois State-Stanford game.
In one of the thrillers thus far in the tournament, No. 3 Drexel held off No. 7 Northern Iowa 65-63. Despite being outrebounded 30 to 20, the Dragons shot a blistering seven of 10 from the three-point range.
Sammie Givens led the way, pouring in 28 points on 11-of-13 shooting.
The unsung hero was Chris Fouch, who came off the bench to drill four three’s in route to 16 huge points. It was a rarity to see the Dragons get outrebounded—considering they entered the game ranked 22nd in the country in rebounding margin at 6.0.
Next up for the Dragons is a date with UMass. The Minutemen are fresh off the best victory of the tournament after beating Seton Hall 77-67 on Saturday.
No. 5 Nevada takes on No. 8 Bucknell and No. 3 Oregon plays No. 7 Iowa in the other two matchups on the day for a place in the Elite Eight. Aside from UMass and Drexel, only the No. 1 seeded Washington Huskies remain.
Check back at the conclusion of those games for the latest scores and highlights as we inch closer to the Final Four at Madison Square Garden on March 27th.
