Fantasy Baseball Rankings 2012: Robinson Cano and Top 2B
As far as the top players go, second base is just as stacked as any position in the MLB.
Second base is one of the more versatile positions in the league, featuring former 2008 AL MVP in Dustin Pedroia, last year's Home Run Derby champion Robinson Cano and one of the most lethal base-stealers in Ian Kinsler.
In a knowledgeable fantasy baseball league, these six players should be snatched up very quickly.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
1. Robinson Cano, New York Yankees
One of the most dominant power hitters in the game, Cano has helped to keep the Yankees in top form throughout Alex Rodriguez's struggles. He finished with 28 home runs, 118 RBI and a .302 batting average in 2011.
2. Dustin Pedroia, Boston Red Sox
It's only fitting that the two second basemen at the top are from the most storied rivalry in baseball.
Pedroia has found a way to stay a formidable presence among the Red Sox's bats after his 2008 MVP year.
3. Ian Kinsler, Texas Rangers
The two-time All-Star is one of the most well-rounded players in baseball, using excellent fielding and base-running to compliment his bat.
Kinsler should be more motivated than ever to produce in 2012 after two straight trips to the World Series with no ring to show for it.
4. Ben Zobrist, Tampa Bay Rays
Zobrist is a career-long Ray and is looking to build off his best year yet, which amassed 158 hits and 99 runs. He's on the upward slope.
5. Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves
Uggla struggled at times in his first season with Atlanta, but still cracks the top five for second basemen due to his incredible career to date.
Look for his .233 batting average in 2011 to significantly improve this year as he continues to settle in with the Braves.
6. Brandon Phillips, Cincinnati Reds
Phillips is one of the most consistent fielders in the game right now. He's the only player to get a .260 batting average, hit 15 homers and grab 10 stolen bases in each of the past six seasons.
