WWE News: Major Update on Chris Jericho's Future in WWE
When Chris Jericho returned to the WWE earlier this year, the question wasn’t what he’d be doing—we knew he was eventually headed for a feud with CM Punk.
Rather, the real question was how long Jericho was going to stick around for his latest run with the company. Although there have been hints that he’d be leaving shortly after WrestleMania 28, there have also been some indications that he’s here for the long run.
So, just what is going on with Y2J now? Here is the latest on his future with the WWE, courtesy of WrestlingInc.com:

"Chris Jericho is currently advertised for WWE events through June 4th. Jericho's WWE stint was expected to be a short one, as he is expected to tour with Fozzy and record a new album this summer. Last month, the band was added to the Download Festival in the UK from June 8-10.
However, there are signs that Jericho will return after touring with the band. Jericho is being advertised for events starting in late August, and the Chesapeake Arena website is advertising Jericho for the RAW SuperShow on Monday, October 1st.

Consider me to be among the fans who think that, even if he leaves at some point this summer, Jericho’s going to stick around for another couple of years.
While both the WWE and Y2J have remained pretty tight-lipped about his contract status, I tend to believe that one very big clue indicates that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. That clue? The fact that he works house shows.
If Jericho was going to come back for one last brief run that culminated not long after he returned, I would think he was probably doing so for one last major match at WrestleMania and the huge payday that comes along with it. I don’t think he would be working house shows and performing day in and day out like every other superstar in the company.
He would likely be getting the “work TV tapings and PPVs, but not live events” treatment that is only afforded to stars of his magnitude. Of course, this is just a theory or a hunch on my part, but I’m going to stick to it.
Jericho is not going to leave the WWE—for good, at least—until he’s ready to retire, and with so much gas still left in the tank, that’s not going to happen for quite some time.
The man known as Y2J will be with the WWE this fall and well beyond it.
