Matt Norlander and Why You Should Pick Kentucky
""
Although Kentucky's the most favored team to enter the tournament since 2005 North Carolina, the Wildcats are certainly fallible. So why'd I take them? Simple: Anthony Davis is a once-a-decade player in college basketball. Kentucky's gotten better and closer each of the past two years under John Calipari. First it was the Elite Eight. Last year, the Final Four. Now this team is the most talented Calipari's had in Lexington and has the best player he's ever coached. It's finally time for him to win one.
This is just sound advice and pointing out that the 2005 UNC team was the last team to be this heavily favored was icing on the cake. They won it all that year and Kentucky most likely will in 2012.
Jeff Goodman and Syracuse in the Big Easy
"The Orange should be able to get past UNC-Asheville in its first game, then shouldn't have much difficulty with a second-round matchup against either Kansas State or Southern Miss.
To be honest, this region isn't overly intimidating.
Ohio State and Florida State have been enigmas. The Buckeyes are talented among their top four players, but have underachieved. The Seminoles are playing well, but it's tough to predict which team will show up. Bo Ryan has milked as much as he could out of his Wisconsin team this season and it's difficult to imagine the Badgers doing much of anything.
"
He’s clearly right that the East Region is one of the weakest and ‘Cuse might just waltz on through the Big Dance to the Big Easy.
