NCAA Tournament 2012: Underrated Stars Who Will Break out in Tournament
Superstars really shine in the NCAA tournament. With the field set in stone, let's look at underrated stars who are due for a breakout tournament.
Casper Ware
The Big West Player of the Year has been through tough and great times at Long Beach State. After failed attempts to make the NCAA tournament, the 49ers finally sealed the deal on Saturday night.

This is a team that won't be afraid of anybody, given the fact that they traveled to North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Kansas and Louisville.
Ware leads the team in scoring with 17.4 points per game. He's been developing his shot from the perimeter over the years, and it seems to be there at the moment. He could get hot from beyond the arc similar to what he did in the Big West final, when he dropped eight on UC Santa Barbara.
Ware will get his opportunity to shine against New Mexico in the first round.
Isaiah Canaan
People don't fully understand just how good Murray State's Isaiah Canaan is. He has range for days and the ability to take any game over.
He averages 19.2 points per game on 48 percent shooting. He shoots 47 percent from three-point range and 84 percent from the free-throw line.
Canaan can definitely fill it up from all parts of the court.
Doug McDermott
Is it possible that Creighton's Doug McDermott is underrated? To college basketball fans, no, but to the general public who just watches the tournament, probably.
All he did this season was average 23.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He has a great post-up game that physically dominates the competition.
What I love most about McDermott is how aggressive he is when he touches the ball. As soon as he catches the ball in the post, he has one thing on his mind—scoring the basketball.
It's almost always in a controlled manner, however. He's patiently quick. If the double-team comes he has the wherewithal to find the open man camped outside the three-point line. He can also hit the outside shot so he's not just a low-block type of player.
McDermott is ready to take this tournament by storm.
