Florida vs. Kentucky: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info and More

Patrick ClarkeJun 2, 2018

The No. 19 Florida Gators (23-9) will take on the nation's No. 1 team in the Kentucky Wildcats (31-1) when the two SEC rivals face off in the semifinal round of the SEC tournament Saturday afternoon in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Wildcats rolled the Gators in the two teams' previous meetings this season, most recently last week on the Gators' home court, but there is more on the line this weekend with a berth in the SEC title game guaranteed for the winner.

Betting Line

Kentucky -9.5 over Florida, according to covers.com. The Wildcats topped the Gators by 20 and 15 at home and on the road respectively this season, which leads us to believe that this line is right on.

Key Injuries

Florida: Will Yeguete (foot), out for season according to thespread.com. The sophomore forward was averaging 4.4 PPG and 6.3 RPG off the bench for the Gators.

Kentucky: No significant injuries.

What's At Stake?

A trip to Sunday's SEC Championship Game is at stake on Saturday afternoon in New Orleans. The Wildcats or the Gators will await the winner of Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi. Kentucky is going for its third straight SEC tournament title, while the Gators are looking to win it for the first time since 2007.

What They're Saying

The Florida Gators feel that they are flying under the radar heading into Saturday's matchup with Goliath. Here's what future NBA prospect Patric Young had to say to the Miami Herald after the Gators' Friday win over Alabama:

"

“I don’t think anybody gives us any respect when it comes to playing big-time games, we’re always the underdog, but when we come out and we do all of the right things and play the right way, I don’t think there’s anybody we can step on the court against and lose to.” - Patric Young

"

Kentucky super freshman and soon-to-be No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, Anthony Davis, thinks the Wildcats' narrow win over LSU on Friday will help them on Saturday according to a report from the Lexington Herald-Leader:

"

"For our first game, we knew they were going to come out like a desperation game for them, (that) really has to have us thinking now. OK, the team's going to come out and play us like their life is on the line. And if we don't come out and play, then we can lose. So I think it was a great game for us to play to get our mind set right going into our next game." - Anthony Davis

"

Most Important Player to Watch: Anthony Davis

The 6'10" freshman from Chicago is a Player of the Year nominee and arguably the greatest force in college basketball this season. Davis is averaging 14.4 PPG, 9.8 RPG and a ridiculous 4.7 BPG. His intensity on defense has made life miserable for the Gators thus far this season, so his presence in the paint on Saturday is the most important thing to watch for.

Key Matchup: Florida's Three-Point Shooting vs. Kentucky's Perimeter Defense

The Gators pour in almost 10 threes per game and if they are hitting they usually win, and vice versa. Florida only made six three-pointers in each of their previous two losses to the Wildcats, which tells us that the Kentucky perimeter defense will win the key matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction

Kentucky 76, Florida 61
