2012 NFL Free Agent Predictions: Bears Are Best Fit for Finnegan-Jackson Package
If Cortland Finnegan and Vincent Jackson want to become a "package deal," they can do better than signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole had the scoop on the possible pairing, and speculated that Greg Schiano's new team is the favorite:
"Cortland Finnegan has been texting VJax in hopes of recruiting him to CF's next team, which is looking like Tampa.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While Tampa Bay has the money to make the move, they're a team that needs a lot more than a cornerback and wide receiver.
Those are two of their biggest needs, mind you, but the Bucs' inability to stop the run or rush the passer ranks them among the worst in the league.
Josh Freeman regressed last year, they don't have a running back they can trust (although they do own this year's fifth overall pick) and there are simply too many question marks for two players in the prime of their career to jump on board with the Bucs.
What's more, it wouldn't be that smart of a move for the Bucs, either.
While they have money to spend, landing two players closing in on 30 at the start of a rebuilding era isn't necessarily money well spent. Jackson and Finnegan don't come without flags, either.
That is why the Bears, a team looking to win right now, are the best fit.
Chicago has needs in the secondary and out wide. Not just a need out wide, either. They need a bigger, physical receiver that Jay Cutler can count on in the red zone. Meanwhile, Finnegan, with his aggressive style of play, fits in nicely in the Bears secondary.
The two players would immediately step into starting roles and help a team with enough talent to make a run for the postseason in 2012.
The same cannot be said if they were to join the Bucs.
Both teams, Chicago and Tampa Bay, need to see what is going on in front of them as does the Finnegan-Jackson package.
Tampa Bay may offer the most money, but the Bears are the best overall fit.
