You just have to love this time of year—when upsets dominate and underdogs rule. Oregon State proved once again that no team can be taken for granted, as they dispatched No. 1-seed Washington in the Pac-12 Tournament.
The wild, wild West got even zanier on Thursday when the Oregon State Beavers sent the Washington Huskies packing in a stirring 86-84 finish.
The Huskies were on fire to end the regular season, lending credence to the belief they would steamroll to the Pac-12 final.

You can say the conference was ugly this season, but I contend it was filled with parity, and the Beavers have proved me right in their upset on Thursday afternoon at Staples Center.
It was a community effort on the part of Oregon State, as five players finished in double digits, and Angus Brandt barely missed the cut with eight points.
Washington saw star guard Tony Wroten pour in 29 points on 10-for-19 shooting, but in the end, it wasn't nearly enough to skirt disaster.
Jared Cunningham will get the credit for hitting the game-winner with just 31 seconds left on the clock, but the real hero was the resiliency of Oregon State.
The Beavers held a 15-point lead, only to see it vanish under a Huskies onslaught—but in the end, the Beavers stuck it out and will move on to play the winner of UCLA and Arizona.
The Huskies have to pray that their 8-2 finish to the season is enough to get their name called on Selection Sunday.
The field is now wide open at the Pac-12 tourney, where truly anyone can win it all.
