Top 5 Musical Performances in WWE Raw History
On Monday night, John Cena is going to rap for the WWE Universe. The same show will feature a concert from The Rock. It is sure to be a very entertaining edition of Raw!
However, musical performances are nothing new to the business. We have seen them on Smackdown. We have seem them at PPV events. Today, I will count down the five best performances from Raw!
5. Union Underground
1 of 5I loved this theme.
The Union Underground performing "Across the Nation" on Raw a few years ago was a highlight for me. Years from now, I will still remember this song.
While I do love Nickelback's music, nothing will beat this opening.
4. Fozzy
2 of 5Honestly, Fozzy sang a few tunes on Raw over the years.
Usually when a Chris Jericho feud called for it, they were involved. You could pick any number of occasions, but the band always brought it!
I haven't heard much of their music the past few years, but I fully admit to owning one of their albums (CD's). Seeing them perform live on Raw is welcome again anytime.
3. Cena Raps
3 of 5This edition of Raw was from Cleveland, the same location as next week's show.
John Cena was the reigning WWE Champion and feuding with Jericho at the time. Among the many topics of which they disagreed with was music.
Obviously, both were on the opposite side of things.
It was all to end up in a "Battle of the Bands." Well, Cena did a great job. Jericho decided not to perform at all, thus giving the default win to the champ.
2. William Shatner 'Sings'
4 of 5I enjoyed the random guest hosts that would show up on Raw a few years ago.
Yes, some were terrible. Others were excellent. You have to learn to take the good with the bad and live life positively.
William Shatner proved that theory to be correct, as he decided to "sing" a few entrance themes by WWE superstars. He did his own variation of classics by Triple H, Shawn Michaels and others in a very memorable segment.
While it wasn't live in the arena, the performance was certainly exclusive to Raw.
1. The Rock Concert
5 of 5For the record, I am only including legitimate "musical" segments. Thus, The Rock and Stone Cold singing together in 2001 doesn't count. The same with the Alliance singing to Steve Austin and others.
If any concert is best linked to WWE Raw, it is from The Rock in 2003. He certainly knew how to play his guitar and showed it off to the world right before Wrestle Mania XIX.
He did the same a month later.
In both cases, his opponent at the upcoming PPV event got involved (Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg). Even with that, it didn't matter.
Fans were treated to an excellent show and were entertained from beginning to end...
