WWE News: Original WrestleMania 28 Plans for Kane Revealed
If there’s one thing we can take out of the last few episodes of WWE TV, it’s that Randy Orton appears to be headed for a match against Kane at WrestleMania 28.
The bout seemingly came out of nowhere, as Kane returned from his Ambulance Match with John Cena, forgot about “The Champ” and randomly decided to attack “The Viper.”
Well, there’s a reason behind this, and the likely Kane/Orton match at Mania wasn’t originally in the cards for “The Big Red Monster.”

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
From Richard Gray of WrestlingNewsWorld.com:
"It’s pretty safe to say the plan is to do Randy Orton vs. Kane at Wrestlemania XXVIII. I find this interesting because there was talk about turning Mark Henry babyface and programming him with Kane for Wrestlemania. Remember it was Henry that originally wrote Kane off television. Henry was vehemently against the proposed babyface turn and it seems WWE has abandoned his massive push.
"
So, I think it’s safe to say that now we know why Henry has taken a dramatic plunge down the card: He didn’t want to turn face, and WWE officials likely weren’t too happy about it.
I have to second Henry on this one, though—I do not want to see him performing as a baby face again. He was a face for a while before turning heel last year, and he was nothing more than a glorified jobber in that role.
Why turn him face again? No one wants to cheer for a guy with a limited offensive move set who should be able to beat the crap out of everyone he wrestles.
I’m actually extremely glad that Henry didn’t go back to being a fan favorite, though it did wind up resulting in this Kane/Orton feud that I have no interest in. It’s not that I don’t think this feud could be good—it’s that it was so rushed and randomly thrown together that we, the fans, have little reasons to invest ourselves in it.
Now, Kane is the only real winner in this situation because he’s getting a reasonably high-profile spot on the WrestleMania 28 card.
We’re going to suffer through an Orton/Kane match that likely won’t be very good, Henry might not even get on the card, and now, Orton is relegated to a match like this when he should have been rewarded with a major match after his stellar 2011.
Oh well. I guess that’s what happens when someone does the right thing for his character and refuses to turn face.
