Gulfstream Racetrack: Sunday Card Analysis and Predictions
I really like the Sunday card at Gulfstream, and I feel confident that I can provide a nice amount of winners. Let's get right to it.
st Race: Kiowa appears to be the horse to beat. This filly has yet to be off the board in three career starts at Gulfstream or at eight furlongs. Twin Cities is the 9-5 morning line favorite, but is stretching out for trainer Nick Canani. Temple Lion is returning to dirt after a poor try on turf, and has a win at the distance.
nd Race: Corbins Village, trained by Todd Pletcher and John Velazquez, gets the mount. This horse was steadied last time out, but finished well. Bunny Valentine appears to be the classic stalker in this race, and continues to improve. Centrique is dropping in class and losing six pounds from her last start. This is her first start off the claim.
rd Race: Coach Gary had a great bullet work on February 28, and returns to grass after a poor try on dirt on January 12. Sole Runner should be the pace setter, and also returns to grass after eight straight races on dirt. Perfect Cherokee and Tanzana appear capable of making exotic wagers very rewarding.
th Race: Timothy Hills sends out It's Time to Laugh, who appears ready to to break his maiden. Big Bentley, who needed his last race after being inactive for three months, should improve. Rockstar Richie has lost six pounds since his last, and has two second-place finishes in three turf races.
th Race: Salvar appears to the best of a very bad group of 12. Precedent faded badly last time, but catches the perfect spot to collect a second-place check. My Ice Dancer is the best of the rest.
th Race: Mobilizer gets the nod, as John Velazquez gets aboard and the firm turf should be ideal. Soldat is the most talented horse in the race, but hasn't been out since the Kentucky Derby. Fastest Magician is the deep closer and can win if the pace is hot.
th Race: My Friend Dr. Joe had a superb work of 59.3, and I'm not afraid of the 10-1 morning line. Unbridled Way has steady works for Kiaran McLaughlin and appears ready. Fast Falcon is sired by Awesome Again for Nick Zito.
th Race: Didn't Take It cuts back to a mile and appears the one to beat. Javier Castellano stays aboard Yari, who appears to the main rival. Sharp Daddy is winless in four, but tries grass for the first time. The horse has the breeding to take a major step forward.
th Race: Sinister Tale is 2-for-2 on dirt and should get an honest pace to close. True Feelings cuts back to six furlongs for Anthony Dutrow and should be dangerous late. Demi Tasse is the true speed, and is undefeated at the distance when the track has no moisture.
th Race: Classy Zip will prevail if she starts well, but has had a lot of problems early in races. Cascadilla Falls is two for three at the distance and will be the one to run down. Broken Dreams might need more distance, but can win this race if Jose Lezcano has her within a few lengths at the top of the stretch.
th Race: Summer Kitten is the main speed and cuts back in distance. Lizzie Bear, who was bumped and pushed in her lone start, can take a giant step forward. Wonzit, who had problems in her last two, can be very dangerous with a clean trip
