7 Wrestlers You Want to See in Sting's Final Match
At some point, there will come a time when Sting puts away the makeup, the "insane icon" image and the Scorpion Death Lock.
At some point, the man who helped revolutionize a generation and helped the development of the NWA, WCW and TNA will no longer hang from the rafters and look like "The Crow" and watch our every move.
At some point, Sting will no longer be in the foreground of the wrestling conscience.
And that point might come some time soon.
At Victory Road, Sting, the man 52 years in the making, faces Bobby Roode in a match that ushers in the new and says goodbye to days gone by of what wrestling meant.
Who should be in his last match? That is, if this is not his last match. But if he gets back in the ring, who has the honor of making the last time we see a Stinger Splash memorable?
These wrestlers could get the call.
AJ Styles
1 of 7If there is a true "Icon" in this company, Styles has to be the one.
Styles has done it all in this business for TNA, and he should be the standard bearer that gives Sting the match of his life.
The two have met before and their matches have been epic.
Jeff Hardy
2 of 7Call this a debt repaid to Sting.
Remember Victory Road last year and that is all you have to say.
While Hardy has worked hard to clean his image and make amends for his issues with the company and the wrestlers in the back, he has been given a vote of approval from Sting, among others.
The two had unfinished business when he "bailed" out of the PPV.
This could be the "great" match we want to see.
Bobby Roode
3 of 7The two are meeting. The two are in a heated feud. The two could make magic when they collide.
Roode is the leader of the new age. Sting, the old guard.
If done properly, without interruption (can't see this happening), it could be one of the greatest matches of all time.
Kurt Angle
4 of 7The last time these two met it was for a title, and a chair shot was involved.
Could the final match be a clean one where there is no interference and the two men actually shake hands at the end?
Back in the day, Sting and Ric Flair closed out WCW with a match that did not go as well as it could have. Ric Flair was out of shape and Sting carried the match.
This is a match that should carry itself.
James Storm
5 of 7Storm is gaining more cred as a singles wrestler.
And his mic skills are so damn good.
I'm not sure how this one plays out. But Sting may be sorry in the end for having gotten in the ring with "The Cowboy" in the first place.
"Last Call Super Kick" vs. "The Scorpion Death Lock" means more excitement for the fans.
Ric Flair
6 of 7Back in the day, Sting and Ric Flair closed out WCW with a match that did not go as well as it could have. Ric Flair was out of shape and Sting carried the match.
Flair made Sting. There is no doubt about that. Now Flair looks like a crumbled shell of his old self.
Let's pray this match never happens.
Hulk Hogan
7 of 7Wasn't Sting supposed to retire Hogan? In a sense, he did.
But we still see Hogan's face on television from time to time.
Now it is Hogan's turn to return the favor.
