The Rivals 100 Prospects Who Were Robbed of a Fifth Star

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

Now that the Rivals 100 is out and about, yesterday we took a look at which recruits got the heralded 5-star rating. Today, we're going to take a different route, but still on the lines up the the coveted five stars.

Today, we're going to take a look at which prospects inside the Rivals 100 got robbed—robbed meaning they deserve a fifth star by Rivals. I'm sure we'll have our own opinions, so let's come on inside and see who should be crying foul and have a bone to pick with Rivals.

Here we go!

7. Ty Isaac, RB

1 of 7

Isaac rushed for 516 yards and six TDs as a junior...in the state title game. He's a 6'3", 215-pound RB that I felt deserved a 5-star rating.

Rivals has him listed as the 18th best prospect in the nation. I wonder if a good camps and combines showing during the evaluation period would surge him up the rankings?

6. Robert Foster, WR

2 of 7

Foster is an explosive WR at 6'3", 177 pounds. He got robbed in my opinion—he's more polished than say a Ricardo Louis, as both have similar explosion and athleticism.

Rivals has Foster labeled a 4-star prospect and ranked the 26th best overall player in the country. It's a bit low for my liking right now, but it's early.

5. Jalin Marshall, RB/ATH

3 of 7

I thought for sure Marshall would have a 5-star rating. But no, so he makes it on this list. I think he may be the top playmaker in the Midwest on the offensive side of the ball.

At 6'1" and 190 pounds, Marshall is the 41st best player in the country according to Rivals. I've had him as high as No. 3 overall on my early edition boards.

4. Ricky Seals-Jones, WR

4 of 7

Seals-Jones is one of the top players in Texas, which usually automatically gets a player into the 5-star discussion. Then take the fact that he's a 6'5", 220-pound stallion with good speed and athleticism—what's not love?

Rivals has him at No.13 overall, just missing the 5-star cut. I think he'll eventually get a fifth star, as his size, versatility to play WR or TE and athleticism will marvel onlookers during the evaluation period.

3. Adam Breneman, TE

5 of 7

How is a 6'5", 220-pound TE prospect that catches 72 balls for over 1,200 yards and 12 TDs not a 5-star prospect? It beats me, but Breneman is another prospect that got robbed in my opinion.

He's 22nd overall in the Rivals 100 and I think he should be higher. He's like a WR, due to his soft hands, great pluck ability, ball skills and ability to catch in a crowd.

2. Michael Hutchings, LB

6 of 7

Hutchings is a 6'2", 210-pound LB prospect who totaled 56 stops and two sacks last year. He's a versatile second-level defender who can track the run, cover TEs and RBs, blitz, generate a pass-rusher and play various LB spots.

Rivals has him at 17th overall, but Hutchings probably should be higher. He's the best De La Salle defensive player since DJ Williams and Kevin Simon.

1. Antonio Conner, DB

7 of 7

I feel Conner could be the best safety prospect in America. This kid can play with the best of them and his 6'2", 190-pound frame has great speed, athleticism, quickness, instincts and sheer playmaking ability from the deep middle.

He rated an unbelievably low 38th by Rivals and I think that's just wrong. Conner should be higher than that and he got robbed the most out of anyone on this list.
