One Player on Each Team Who Minnesota Twins Fans Hate to See
There's never a good time to see Mariano Rivera take the mound or Prince Fielder step to the plate.
But for Minnesota Twin fans, even players like Hideki Matsui and B.J. Upton are guys they don't want to see.
Here is one player from each team who has either had a lot of success against the Twins, is an especially dangerous player, or is a former Twin.
Arizona Diamondbacks: Jason Kubel
1 of 29I absolutely loved Kubel when he played in Minnesota, so it will be hard to see him playing in Arizona now.
Atlanta Braves: Chipper Jones
2 of 29During Chipper's long career, he's only met the Twins six times, but his average during those 21 at-bats is .542 and he has an OBP of .607.
Baltimore Orioles: Robert Andino
3 of 29I honestly couldn't think of someone from the Orioles I am afraid of, so I had to dig pretty deep for this one.
Andino has batted .321 against the Twins in his 28 career at-bats.
Boston Red Sox: David Ortiz
4 of 29The one who got away.
Chicago Cubs: Matt Garza
5 of 29Unfortunately, the Garza trade has not panned out in the Twins' favor.
Chicago White Sox: Alexei Ramirez
6 of 29In his short career, Ramirez has dominated the Twins with a .326 average on 264 at-bats.
Cincinnati Reds: Bronson Arroyo
7 of 29Arroyo has pitched very well against Minnesota in his three starts with a 3.44 ERA.
Cleveland Indians: Travis Hafner
8 of 29Hafner has more hits and home runs against the Twins than against any other team.
Colorado Rockies: Michael Cuddyer
9 of 29I think this one is pretty obvious.
Detroit Tiger: Prince Fielder
10 of 29Not excited about this.
Houston Astros: Wandy Rodriguez
11 of 29Another one I had to dig deep for. Rodriguez dominated Minnesota from the mound for 13.2 innings over two meetings.
Kansas City Royals: Jeff Francoeur
12 of 29Francoeur has batted well against the Twins and is starting his second year as a division rival.
Los Angeles Angels: Torii Hunter
13 of 29Yes, it still stings.
Los Angeles Dodgers: Matt Kemp
14 of 29Kemp and the Twins don't have much history, but I'm pretty sure most opposing fans hate seeing Kemp stroll to the plate.
Miami Marlins: Mark Buehrle
15 of 29Thank goodness he's gone.
Milwaukee Brewers: Ryan Braun
16 of 29Of course.
New York Mets: Johan Santana
17 of 29Some of these slides are extra painful to make.
New York Yankees: Mariano Rivera
18 of 29He's old, yes. But if you see him, it means you're losing.
Oakland Athletics: Hideki Matsui
19 of 29Matsui owns the Twins with a .339 batting average against them.
Philadelphia Phillies: Roy Halladay
20 of 29Feared by all.
Pittsburgh Pirates: Andrew McCutchen
21 of 29This up-and-coming star is someone no opposing fan wants to see.
St. Louis Cardinals: Carlos Beltran
22 of 29His days with the Royals were enough to land him on this spot.
San Diego Padres: Huston Street
23 of 29Street is 7-for-7 in save attempts against the Twins.
San Fransisco Giants: Tim Lincecum
24 of 29He pitched seven shutout innings against the Twins in their only meeting.
Seattle Mariners: Ichiro Suzuki
25 of 29Ichiro tears up the Twins with a .324 batting average.
Tampa Bay Rays: B.J. Upton
26 of 29Upton has batted .339 over 118 at-bats against the Twins. That is insane.
Texas Rangers: Joe Nathan
27 of 29Too bad.
Toronto Blue Jays: Jose Bautista
28 of 29Bautista has 15 home runs in 99 at-bats against Minnesota. Yikes.
Washington Nationals: Stephen Strasburg
29 of 29Lots of hype still. I hope he doesn't somehow end up in the AL.
