Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
The talented right wing has been rumored to just about every team in the NHL, but a deal has yet to be made. On the season, Nash has 42 points and any potential playoff team would love to add his talent.
Still, though, he is on contract through the end of the 2015 season, so he's not just a rental and it's not just playoff teams that are interested.
With that being said, it's going to be a playoff team that will land him.
The Rangers are currently first in the Eastern Conference, yet they still have some improvements that could be made. Most notably, they average just 2.73 goals per contest, which is 12th in the NHL.
Nash would improve that.
What's more, New York has a package put together that should land Nash. According to ESPN, that package will include Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon, a first-round pick and probably one more player.
Dustin Brown stays put
Seemingly out of nowhere, Dustin Brown was thrown into the middle of trade rumors as the Kings reportedly made him available. No worry, though, as Brown went out and netted a hat trick against Chicago.
That was incredibly impressive, considering the circumstances.
The Kings are right on the fringe of the playoffs, so unless they can immediately get better by trading Brown, a move doesn't make much sense. Throw in the fact that he's owned through 2014 and the Kings seem to now be shying away from his availability, and it appears Brown is going nowhere.
Pittsburgh Penguins Land Josh Harding
Harding hits free agency this summer and the Minnesota Wild likely won't make a playoff run this season, so they might as well get something for Harding while they can.
Harding wants a starting job, but it's unlikely he finds that this season.
Enter the Penguins, who could use him as a rental for defensive depth. What's more, Harding could showcase his skills so he finds more suitors in the summer.
