NFL Combine 2012: 5 Players to Watch on Sunday
Now that four days of the 2012 NFL combine are in the books, we approach the fifth day of the combine with the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers scheduled to workout Sunday in Indianapolis.
With the two biggest names, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, not going to throw, we're going to have to focus our attention on some of the other guys.
In that spirit, here are five players to watch on Sunday.
Kirk Cousins
1 of 5Despite being considered a game manager-type at the NFL level, Kirk Cousins has all the proper tools and talents to be a successful quarterback.
Cousins had a stellar career at Michigan State, where he showed off his strong arm and his contagious work ethic.
What Cousins needs to do on Sunday is prove to all the scouts that he is poised to be a starter in the NFL.
Alshon Jeffery
2 of 5Alshon Jeffery had a lot to prove heading into the 2012 NFL combine, and has already proved a lot as he arrived in perfect shape, standing in at 6'3" and weighting a solid 216 lbs.
Jeffery is someone we all need to watch closely Sunday, as he has all the talent in the world and, depending on his performance in the drills, he could find himself being drafted in the top 10 this upcoming April.
Nick Foles
3 of 5With Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III not throwing Sunday, Arizona's Nick Foles could steal the show, as he's a talented prospect who needs to prove himself.
Foles has a pretty strong arm and will be able to show that off Sunday in position drills—but we'll have to see how he does running around, as he's strictly a pocket passer.
Stephen Hill
4 of 5Coming out of Georgia Tech, Stephen Hill may not be the top wide receiver prospect, as he played in the triple-option, but he has the skill set to be great.
Hill's major weakness is that he was used solely as a deep threat at Georgia Tech—but he's going to get his chance to prove himself in the gauntlet drill, Sunday in Indianapolis.
Lamar Miller
5 of 5Aside from Trent Richardson, Miami's Lamar Miller is the best available running back in the 2012 draft class.
Miller is a well-rounded runner but really relies on his blazing speed—we'll just have to wait and see how fast he clocks in on the 40-yard dash on Sunday.
