NFL Combine 2012: 5 Top Offensive Linemen Workout Results

Tony SantorsaJun 2, 2018

With Day Four of the 2012 NFL combine coming to an end, we can now take a step back and recap Saturday's action in Indianapolis.

During Day Four, we saw offensive linemen and tight end prospects workout. Some did pretty well and some struggled, but overall, it was a pretty successful day.

With that being said, let's take a look at the top five offensive linemen and how they did Saturday.

1. Matt Kalil

1 of 5

USC's Matt Kalil had a pretty solid day Saturday in Indianapolis.

Kalil was a top performer in two categories as he ran an impressive 4.99 in the 40-yard dash as well as running a 7.33 in the 3-cone drill.

The 6'7" 306 pounder also recorded 30 reps in the bench press as well as a 27 inch vertical jump and a time of 4.65 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle.

There's still no debate that Kalil is the best available linemen in the 2012 class.

2. David DeCastro

2 of 5

There's still no question that Stanford's David DeCastro is the best available offensive guard in this year's draft as he's one of the most intriguing offensive guard prospects in quite some time.

DeCastro was a top performer in the 3-cone drill as he posted a time of 7.30 seconds, as well as running a 4.56 in the 20-yard shuttle.

As of right now, I still figure DeCastro to be a top 15 selection this April.

3. Jonathan Martin

3 of 5

Due to a food illness, Stanford's Jonathan Martin was unable to participate in in the 40-yard dash, bench press or any drills of that nature as well as the positional drills.

Martin will have to showcase his skills at his Pro Day March 22.

Martin came into the combine standing in at 6'5" and weighting 312 pounds.

4. Riley Reiff

4 of 5

As for NFL combine workout concerns, Riley Reiff may not be the greatest offensive tackle prospect for the NFL.

The Iowa product didn't really impress too many this Saturday as he ran a 5.23 40-yard dash time while only bench pressing 23 reps and posting a 4.75 in the 20-yard shuttle.

Reiff's numbers weren't all that great and there are some concerns that he may not be strong enough to block against power rushers that the NFL has to offer.

5. Peter Konz

5 of 5

This draft class' top center prospect did not have the greatest combine day this Saturday.

Wisconsin's Peter Konz only participated in the bench press and managed to only record 18 reps.

Konz may stand in at 6'5" and weights 314 pounds, but his strength was a concern heading into the combine and his mere 18 reps is now a red flag heading into the 2012 NFL Draft.
