2012 NFL Free Agent Predictions: Power Ranking Best Options for WR Mike Wallace
Mike Wallace plans to test the waters of free agency this NFL offseason, and some teams are far better options for him than others.
The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver broke out in 2010, but statistically had a down year this past season.
Still, Wallace is one of the top free agent wide receivers on the market this offseason, and he's sure to garner a great deal of attention.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Rich Gannon tweeted what Wallace told him about his possible landing spots.
"Mike Wallace believes he could be the missing piece in SF or NE if PIT doesn't resign him! Interesting...

With that said, here's how I rank Wallace's best options.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
Taken by the Steelers in the third round of the 2009 draft, Wallace has come into his own and emerged as a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver.
He's a restricted free agent, meaning the Steelers can match any offer thrown his way. They shouldn't have to fight for Wallace, though, because they're the best option for him.
Wallace is familiar with all the players, and even though there is a new offensive coordinator in town, the former Mississippi Rebel will still be a focal point on offense. The Steelers need Wallace to help them reach greatness again.
Since Ben Roethlisberger restructured his deal to help the team's salary cap, the Steelers are in good position to re-sign Wallace. Pittsburgh is the best place for Wallace to end up at in 2012.
2. San Francisco 49ers
Should the Steelers decide to part ways with Wallace or they don't feel like spending too much money, Wallace's next best bet is to join the 49ers.
Playing in the weak NFC West would give Wallace an easy route to the playoffs. Plus, he would be heavily relied on in the 49ers offense because it's lacking the playmakers department.
San Francisco is a team on the rise in the NFL, and Wallace would help push the 49ers toward the Super Bowl, which is why they're a strong option for him to consider.
The 49ers are the top spot for him, but should the Steelers look elsewhere, Wallace's best bet then becomes signing with San Francisco.
3. New England Patriots
Playing with Tom Brady would definitely help Wallace out. The Patriots would have a strong deep threat in Wallace, which would do tremendous things for their offense.
However, Wallace isn't likely to get the money he's looking for if he were to join the Patriots. If he's OK with sacrificing his paycheck to win it all, then joining New England is a good move.
Still, he has a strong shot to win the Super Bowl with any of these three teams, so staying in Pittsburgh would be better because he'd probably get more money anyway.
The Patriots are a solid option, but since Brady utilizes so many weapons, Wallace is better off going to one of the teams above so he can get more targets and more money.
