WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Results: Which Chamber Match Was Better?

Kaleb KelchnerJun 7, 2018

WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 is in the books, and after both the WWE Champion CM Punk and World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan retained their titles in the Elimination Chamber, the debate has begun as to which chamber match was the better of the two.

There's no doubt in my mind that the majority of fans will believe that the Raw Elimination Chamber was much better than the SmackDown Elimination Chamber, and I agree completely.

The pace of the SmackDown chamber match brought about chants of "This is Boring!" from the crowd, and it wasn't exactly a surprise, considering that both the Big Show and the Great Khali were participating in it.

When compared to the Raw chamber match, there's really no contest. The Raw lineup looked like fireworks, with CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, The Miz, and Chris Jericho, the match featured much more action and flare than its blue brand counterpart.

Kofi Kingston stepped up to the plate and delivered a main event worthy performance, and Dolph Ziggler took the most "onto the chamber floor" bumps of the night, for sure.

The biggest spot of the Raw chamber match came when Kofi hit CM Punk and The Miz with a cross body off of the top of a pod. Unfortunately for Kofi, he was out of the match shortly thereafter.

CM Punk took Chris Jericho out of the match by knocking him out with a roundhouse kick to the head, and won after pinning The Miz.

SmackDown's chamber match wasn't short of big moments though, with Big Show ripping his way through the top of Daniel Bryan's pod and climbing inside to give him an early thrashing before Bryan's pod opened.

The SmackDown chamber match may have actually showed up Raw's in regards to the finish. After suffering a serious beating, Santino Marella eliminated Wade Barrett, leaving him and Daniel Bryan to fight for Bryan's Heavyweight title.

Santino gave Bryan a legitimate run for his money, hitting the arrogant champion with the Cobra, but failing to get the pin needed to secure championship gold. The crowd's hottest moment of the night came when it appeared that Santino could possibly walk out the champion, and nearly escaped Daniel Bryan's LeBell Lock before submitting.

Despite the strong finish, SmackDown's chamber match couldn't top Raw's. This wasn't exactly a shocking conclusion, and one has to wonder why the Raw chamber match was the first match of the night. The crowd certainly wasn't impressed for a great deal of the SmackDown chamber match, and it showed.
