Klitschko vs Chisora Results: Brit Still on Thin Ice Despite Going 12 Rounds
Coming into his world heavyweight title bout with Vitali Klitschko, young British challenger Dereck Chisora was already walking on thin ice.
At the two's weigh-in, Chisora infamously slapped Klitschko in the face, an unprecedented move that a challenger—heck anybody—should never do at an event like this.
Sure, the sport is all based around violence, but you don't hit a fellow boxer when he is not expecting it.
Well, Chisora made matters worse during the fight, as he spit on Klitschko's brother's face before the fight started.
Clearly, Chisora is a crazy dude. Maybe this is his way of trying to intimidate his opponent, but all he is doing is disrespecting the sport and it's champion.
With Klitschko out to kill, Chisora surprisingly stretched this fight out to all 12 rounds. He lost in a unanimous decision, but he fought a good fight in what was going to be a tough match to begin with.
If it was anybody else, they would likely be the talk of the town, and in result getting their name onto another big fight. Chisora, though, is likely going to be fighting to keep his name in the professional boxing world.
His actions are just inappropriate, and he has crossed the line twice. Clearly, he hasn't learned his lesson, and the WBC may decide that he ultimately isn't worth the headache.
It is quite sad, as the guy has talent and potential to be a champion. But his disrespect has put him into a position where he may no longer get a chance to show the world what he could do if given the chance.
