Oregon Football Schedule 2012: Game by Game Breakdown

Randy ChambersJun 7, 2018

In a weak conference in the Pac-12, there are really only two contenders that have a shot at winning the conference. Oregon is of course one of them, as they have one of the more talented teams in the country and can score with anybody. Even with LaMichael James moving onto the NFL, this is a team to watch out for as they compete for a national championship.

Last year's football season may have just ended, but it's never too early to make predictions.

Here are predictions for the Ducks' schedule next year.

Vs. Arkansas State 09/01

1 of 12

Arkansas State may be the best team in the Sun Belt with Michael Dyer and Gus Malzahn running the team, but that's not nearly good enough to lead the team to victory. Oregon wins the debut in what sets up a three-game cakewalk.

Oregon wins, 56-10

Vs. Fresno State 09/08

2 of 12

The Bulldogs scoring defense was ranked 102nd in the country, giving up an average of 35 points per contest. That's not a good sign when you're going up against the Ducks.

Oregon wins, 45-3

Vs. Tennessee Tech 09/15

3 of 12

Does this game really need an explanation? Oregon will win this game in the first quarter alone.

Oregon wins, 67-0

Vs. Arizona 09/22

4 of 12

The Wildcats struggled to win games last year, and that was while they had Nick Foles and Juron Criner on the team. Now that they head to the NFL, the score will be a lot worse than last year's 56-31 outcome.

Oregon wins, 48-17

At Washington State 09/29

5 of 12

Head coach Mike Leach may work a few miracles and turn this Washington State program into a respectable team, but they finished 4-8 last season. This makeover isn't going to happen overnight, and the Cougars won't knock off the Ducks this season.

Oregon wins, 46-21

Vs. Washington 10/06

6 of 12

I like this Washington team with Keith Price running the show, but I don't like a defense that was ranked 108th last year, as they gave up nearly 36 points per game. I like the direction this Husky team is heading in, but don't see Oregon losing in this game either.

Oregon wins, 57-34

At Arizona State 10/18

7 of 12

Arizona State has a talented team to eventually become a force in this watered-down conference, but with a few changes and a new head coach, they don't stand a chance in this one. Expect the Ducks to extend the winning streak between these two teams to eight games.

Oregon wins: 45-21

Vs. Colorado 10/27

8 of 12

The Buffalo's lost to the Ducks by a score of 45-2 last year, and that game was in Colorado. They finished the year with a 3-10 record and were ranked 109th in scoring offense and scoring defense. Do I really need to say more?

Oregon wins, 56-7

At USC 11/03

9 of 12

If there's any team on this schedule that can keep the Ducks from going undefeated, it's the Trojans. Oregon has just enough offensive weapons to keep up with the USC and their explosive offense. My opinion may change as we get closer to this matchup, but I have to go with USC.

The Ducks have lost their starting quarterback and starting running back and are playing on the road. I know Oregon is still a loaded team, but USC is returning nearly every starter on both sides of the ball. Not to mention, USC beat the Ducks last season in Eugene when they still had LaMichael James.

USC wins, 38-35

At Cal 11/10

10 of 12

Cal is another team that's heading in the right direction, and they may be a dark horse in this conference this season. I just don't think the Golden Bears have enough offensive firepower to keep up with the Ducks, although this game may be a lot closer than many expect.

Oregon wins, 38-28

Vs. Stanford 11/17

11 of 12

The Ducks won last year's meeting, and that was in Stanford, with the Cardinal having Andrew Luck leading the way. That's good enough reason to believe they'll win this year's matchup in Eugene without having to face the future No. 1 pick in this year's draft.

Oregon wins, 45-21

At Oregon State 11/24

12 of 12

The Ducks have won the last four meetings between these two teams, and three of them have come by double-digits. The talent level between these two teams is too great to believe the Beavers have a chance in this one. Maybe in a year or two, but don't expect this rivalry game to be close.

Oregon wins, 46-14
