Wide Left Podcast: Introducing New B/R Lead Writers Adam Kramer & Will Tidey
I promise you two things: First, this is the longest show we will do for some time; Second, it's not as navel gazey as the headline sounds.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I'm happy to officially welcome two of our new lead writers into the Bleacher Report fold as I chat with Adam Kramer of the Kegs and Eggs Blog, who will be the new college football lead writer, and Will Tidey, new lead writer for soccer (aka world football).
I had hoped to also chat with new MMA lead writer Jonathan Snowden, but he is under the weather. Instead, I have a chat with Bleacher Report managing editor Tim Wood, who gives his thoughts on the second wave of the lead writer program and announces a few additional names who will be joining the team.
Again…not navel gazey. I promise.
First, Kramer and I talk about his time covering college football before turning our attention to two major topics.
We talk about the plus-one model for the BCS and what that would mean for the current bowl system. We also talk about West Virginia's contract with the Big East being, ahem, terminated and what that means for the school and the conference.
Is John Marinatto the worst commissioner in the history of college sports?
That and more with Adam.
At the 23:25 mark, for those looking to skip ahead, Tidey and I talk about his role atop the soccer pile at B/R and what we should expect as a predominantly American audience reading about the beautiful game from a chap across the pond. Is it difficult, or maybe better, writing for a foreign audience?
We also cover the big stories in English football, from who will run their national team (Will thinks Harry Redknapp is a lock), who may be their captain in the Euro 2012 tournament and what a title would mean to his country.
We also tackle the Carlos Tevez soap opera at Manchester City and wonder if his return will be a good thing for United. Plus, we get in depth about the Luis Suarez saga, including what the reaction has been in his country and what the owners in this country will do in the offseason after a series of black eyes for the storied franchise.
At the 49:50 mark, I chat with Tim Wood about the lead writer program, what jobs Bleacher Report still has open and what he expects out of this influx of talent. I don't just toss softballs either. I ask him if he's concerned this may not work and what happens if it doesn't, among other (hopefully) pointed questions.
If you're a writer at B/R or you're a sports media wonk, the last 15 minutes of the show are hopefully a must-listen to get some insight into the future of the editorial side of the company. Tim also drops a few prominent names that will be joining the team.
I'd post them here, but then you wouldn't have to listen.
Thanks as always.
