Jeremy Lin: Knicks PG Dazzles in 1st Half vs. Timberwolves

Michael DixonJun 5, 2018

Jeremy Lin's road show has flown away from the comforts of Madison Square Garden and into Minnesota, as he is looking like a star again against the Timberwolves

While the Knicks are trailing 62-54 at halftime, Lin is picking up right where he left off in his 38-point performance against the Lakers

Take a look at what he did in the first half against the Timberwolves.

The more this happens, the harder it is going to be for anyone to dismiss Lin as a fluke. He is making the absolute best out of the situation. Without Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony in the lineup, the Knicks' offense is not taking a hit. I doubt that anyone would have thought that possible even two weeks ago.

Lin is playing at an unbelievable level right now and doing so consistently against all competition. This is the perfect situation and, frankly, even when Stroudemire and Anthony are back, Lin is playing so well that the offense will have to keep running through him.

All season long, New York has struggled to find consistency in the backcourt; now it's a strength. This is a perfect fit for Mike D'Antoni's system that favors speed and the fast break.

Not counting tonight's game against Minnesota, Lin is averaging nearly 30 points a game over the last four. It's no coincidence that they are 4-0 in that stretch, and that dictates even more attention.

Time will tell if this is a permanent phenomenon or if it's just a flash in the pan, but Lin has undeniably earned the right to get the shots and trust of the team. That applies right now and also when the superstar forwards get back in the action.

They were 8-15 before this stretch, and they're 4-0 in the last four—all with Lin running the show. That is as objective as is humanly possible. Until it doesn't happen anymore, the ball needs to keep flowing through Lin's hands.
