Virginia vs. North Carolina: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info and More
The North Carolina Tar Heels are fresh off a stunning loss, at the hands of the Duke Blue Devils, but they can't afford to dwell on it with the Virginia Cavaliers coming to town.
Virginia is not on Duke's level, but the Cavaliers are a quality team. They've lost four games all season, and they didn't go quietly in any of them. If North Carolina is even a little shell-shocked after its loss to Duke, it could be headed for a second straight home loss.
For now, let's take a closer look at the matchup.

Key Injuries
According to ESPN.com, North Carolina reserve guard P.J. Hairston will miss this game with a sore left foot. With him out of the picture, expect senior Justin Watts to get more playing time next to Reggie Bullock.
Hairston is averaging 13.6 minutes and 6.6 points per game this season.
What's At Stake?
The ACC is stacked this year, making it hard for any one team in particular to stand out. Of the collection of teams at the top, Virginia does not stand out as an elite contender. Not compared to North Carolina, Duke and Florida State, anyway.
Saturday's contest is a chance for the Cavaliers to change that perception. Beating the Tar Heels on their home court would be a huge statement.
The Tar Heels want to avoid that fate. Their loss to Duke was a killer. They need to come out and get back to doing their thing. If they do, this is a game they should win.
What They're Saying
Virginia senior forward Mike Scott is having an outstanding season, he comes into this game averaging 17 points and 8.3 rebounds.
Scott was perfect in Virginia's last game against Wake Forest, making all nine of his shot attempts and scoring 19 points. Despite those numbers, he made the performance sound like it wasn't anything special.
"On the first 3 or 4 shots I was feeling pretty good," said Scott, according to NBC 29 News. "I wanted to be aggressive and not force anything, just taking what the defense is giving to me. I know I was on a little bit, so I kept going, and tried to keep being aggressive."
Meanwhile in North Carolina, sophomore forward Harrison Barnes hit the nail on the head when he spoke about the Tar Heels' shocking loss to Duke.
Per The News & Observer:
""There wasn't much to say. You go out there, don't play well in the first half, play well in the second half, and then you blow a 10-point lead and lose on a last-second shot. I mean, do you get mad? Do you say, 'Guys, come together?' There's not much to say."
"
In answer to Barnes' question, you don't get mad. You get even.
Virginia Player to Watch
It has to be Scott. He's leading the Cavaliers in both scoring and rebounding, and is a serious contender for ACC Player of the Year.
Scott has his work cut out for him against North Carolina. The Tar Heels have perhaps the best frontcourt in the country with Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Tyler Zeller. They're going to make Scott earn his points, not to mention fight for his rebounds.
Still, Scott might be the biggest frontcourt threat North Carolina has faced this season.
North Carolina Player to Watch
It's going to be very interesting to see how Tyler Zeller bounces back in this game. He scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Duke, but his day did not finish as well as it started.
Zeller was at the tail end of a fluke play, in the final moments of the second half, in which he tipped in an errant shot to give Duke two points. He also missed a couple key free throws late, and he was the one guarding Austin Rivers when he sank that last-second three.
It was a brutal series of events, but Zeller needs to have a short memory. The Tar Heels will need him to be himself.
Key Matchup
If Carolina's bigs can neutralize Scott, the Tar Heels should win this game going away. Joe Harris isn't a bad scorer, but as a whole the Cavaliers are hardly an offensive juggernaut. Against the Tar Heels they'll need their star to play like a star in order to have hope of keeping pace.
Prediction: North Carolina by six
Virginia plays great defense, but I just don't think they're going to be able to score enough points to hang with the Tar Heels. They'll bounce back and win this game.
