NBA All-Star Game Reserves: Predicting Big-Impact Players from Each Conference

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

The 2012 NBA All-Star Game rosters were released last night, and there are quite a few interesting names on the list.

Let’s take a look at who made it and who has the chance to make the biggest impact for their respective side.

Western Conference

G Steve Nash

Nash is making his eighth All-Star Game appearance and his first since 2010. At 38-years-old, he is still one of the best point guards in the game and makes everyone else better around him.

What better place to show that off than with the most talented teammates the game has to offer?

Last time he participated in this event, Nash dished out 13 assists and went two of four from the field. His crafty passing and unselfishness is going to make this must-see basketball.

G Tony Parker

G Russell Westbrook

F Dirk Nowitzki

F LaMarcus Aldridge

F Kevin Love

Love should have been a starter this season, no question about it. He is putting up ridiculous numbers for a mediocre Minnesota Timberwolves squad and is keeping them in the playoff race against all odds.

Expect him to play his butt off when he gets on the court and try and show his skills off in front of a rare national audience.

C Marc Gasol

Eastern Conference

G Deron Williams

D-Will is stuck with an atrocious New Jersey team and finally gets a chance to play with some decent teammates, even if it’s for one night in an exhibition game.

Expect him to make the most of it and enjoy himself out there, using a variety of savvy passes, basket penetration and smooth jump shots to make an impact.

G Joe Johnson

G Andre Iguodala

F Paul Pierce

F Luol Deng

C Roy Hibbert

Hibbert is making his first All-Star appearance of his career and this big man certainly deserves it.

He has his work cut out for him matching up against Andrew Bynum and Marc Gasol, but it will be a chance for the young man out of Georgetown to prove to the world he’s an elite center.
