WWE Elimination Chamber: Power Ranking Raw's Contenders

Rikki SollisFeb 16, 2012

With Elimination Chamber just days away, and as the last stop on the road to Wrestlemania, it will be a big indicator as to some of the matches we will see on the grandest stage of them all.

Both the WWE title and the World Heavyweight title will be on the line this Sunday, and in the 13 Elimination Chambers which have gone before, only three Superstars have walked both in and out with their belt.

Will we see a title change hands this Sunday? For now, here's my power ranking of the entrants in Raw's Chamber match.

6. Kofi Kingston

1 of 6

Remember John Morrison's parkour at the Royal Rumble 2011? And how Kofi trumped it at this year's event?

Now, think back to last year's Raw Elimination Chamber and how John Morrison scaled the chamber to take out Sheamus. Kofi's job is to top that this year. Yes, it's as simple as that. Kofi will be the spot monkey of the match.

I see him coming in at number three or four and then probably be the third to last eliminated after missing a ridiculous spot. I'd love to see him go hit a massive springboard cross body only to meet a Codebreaker.

On a side note, I loved the edgier Kofi Kingston which we saw this past Monday on Raw, and would really welcome a push for him some time in the near future.

5. R-Truth

2 of 6

Since his return from his suspension and ultimately his face turn, R-Truth has been a fantastically entertaining character to watch. From his comical stalking of the Miz to his consistent arguments with Little Jimmy, Truth has established himself as a great face and never fails to have me in stitches.

Down to business though, he doesn't stand a chance in the Elimination Chamber.

While WWE.com ran an article on how he will be the most dangerous participant, he is almost definitely going to be an also rank. I think he will be one of the first two participants in to the match alongside the Miz, and they will likely have a bit of back and forth before the Miz or the number three entrant eliminates him - Not dissimilar to what happened at the Royal Rumble.

Truth's fairly quick win over Dolph Ziggler this past Monday has raised questions in my mind as to whether he is 100 percent fighting fit going into this Sunday, following his big bump two weeks ago on Raw.

Moving forward, a feud with Ziggler could be pretty entertaining to watch, if not for anything, then to see Truth rip on Vickie Guerrero on a weekly basis.

4. The Miz

3 of 6

A couple of months back when the Awesome Truth split, it seemed as if the Miz was heading back to the WWE title scene. While he did receive a title shot at TLC, he was never really considered a big threat to the title.

The fact is, he's been booked terribly recently and following his big botch with R-Truth during the six-pack challenge, he probably isn't the most popular face with the hierarchy.

I think, like at the Royal Rumble, the Miz will be the first entrant into the Elimination Chamber and may last a little while but he isn't going to be a serious threat to Punk's title.

3. Dolph Ziggler

4 of 6

Had Jericho not been in this match then I would have singled out Ziggler as the biggest threat to CM Punk's title. His rise to the top in 2011 was great, but since then he has taken a couple of knocks—the biggest of these were his bulldozing at the hands of CM Punk at the Royal Rumble.

Despite this, he's still one of the best workers in the company, and could even make a match with the Great Khali watchable.

He'll no doubt come in at around number four or five and show off some great ring work before being eliminated by either Jericho or Punk. It's a shame, because minus Jericho he would have been a dead cert to come out on top here.

2. CM Punk

5 of 6

Punk has beaten the odds on several occasions during his title reign. In fact, it's been a pretty exciting ride since he left with the title at the Money in the Bank PPV. But now it's time for him to drop the title for his story to continue.

It's almost guaranteed that a title will change hands on Sunday, and with D-Bry looking likely to retain his, you have to think that it'll be Punk losing his.

I think he'll enter somewhere in the middle and be the last eliminated so that he can kick off a feud with the man on the next slide.

1. Chris Jericho

6 of 6

This one has been written for months. Ever since there were murmurs of a possible Chris Jericho return, his name has always been mentioned in the same sentence as CM Punk.

The Best in the World versus The Best in the World at What I Do. This is the match that everyone has been begging for, and it looks almost certain that WWE is going to grant that wish.

Of course, the only logical way for this feud to start is for Jericho to take the title off of Punk's hands at Elimination Chamber, leading to Punk invoking his rematch clause.

For those doubting that Y2J will win at Elimination Chamber, just think; how can Punk and Jericho build a legitimate feud without Punk dropping the belt?

WWE have already made this a more feasible match up by allowing Jericho to win the six-pack challenge to be the final entrant in the match - meaning he can whip in, do minimal work and win the title. Has the "End of the World" saga been a royal balls up? Yes. But the WWE has the chance to fix it.
