Kansas vs. Baylor: Score, Highlights and Takeaways
The No. 7-ranked Kansas Jayhawks pulled off a convincing upset over the No. 6 Baylor Bears on Wednesday, 68-54. And that makes this a very humbling loss for Baylor as they were on their home court.
This was a pivotal game in the Big 12 standings as both teams entered with conference records of 8-2.

This game looked like it was going to be all Baylor. They had the arena rocking as they scored the game's first seven points. That led to Kansas coach Bill Self calling a timeout just two minutes into the game.
Kansas began to play better following the timeout but did not take control of this game until the late stages of the first half.
The Jayhawks locked this victory up at the end of the first half and beginning of the second. They went on a 14-3 run over the final 4:30 of the first half and carried that momentum into the second half
Center Jeff Withey poured in a game-high 25 points for the Jayhawks. The 25 points were a new career high for Withey, whose previous career high was 15 points.
Takeaways
This was a huge win for Kansas as they righted the ship with a victory. They had lost two of their last three games and first place in the Big 12. With this win, they climbed back into a first-place tie in the conference with Missouri.
They also cemented their dominance over Baylor. They are now 2-0 against their conference rival, and the two wins have come by an average of 16 points.
If Withey can build off this performance and produce a level of play anywhere similar, the Jayhawks are a serious Final Four threat. This will give them a nice third scoring option to go with Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor.
