Michigan Recruiting 2013: The Wolverines' Way-Too-Early Wish List
Brady Hoke hauled in a top 10 class in his first full cycle in Ann Arbor and thanks to DC Greg Mattison, Michigan is back to being a force on the trail. Look for Big Blue to continue their efforts in 2013, trying to bring in an even stronger class.
It's only February and Michigan is after many solid 2013 prospects. However, I'm just going to give you a couple that I think they ought to go after hard right now. But remember, this list is early and it's just February.
Here we go.
Already Committed: Shane Morris, QB and Dymonte Thomas, DB
1 of 6Morris may be the best QB in the nation in 2013, It's early, but he's the hot name. That's why Michigan wasn't too fazed when they lost out on Gunner Kiel last year.
He's a lefty with a cannon for an arm and good set-up quickness.
Thomas is a 6'1", 185-pound safety that is a back end defender with a good skill set. He can factor in against the run and pass and has solid range and play speed.
5. Billy Price, DT
2 of 6At 6'4", 265 pounds, Price is from Ohio and plays DT. He'll likely spend this spring tacking on some girth, but he's a warrior in the trenches.
Price has solid strength, is solid at the point of attack and really has a great motor.
4. James Hatcher, DE
3 of 6Michigan did an amazing job of stocking their roster with defensive talent in 2012 recruiting. Why not do it again in 2013? Hatcher would be a solid get for the Wolverines.
He's a 6'3", 230-pound DE from Kentucky that can play the weak or strong side on the edges of the DL. He's a solid athlete, can burst to finish and is a solid pass-rusher.
3. Jaylon Smith, LB
4 of 6Smith is an LB from Indiana that stands 6'3", 225 pounds. He's one of the best prospects around the Midwest and has a solid amount of offers from major powers.
Michigan is one of them, as is Ohio State and Notre Dame. Don't expect a decision anytime soon.
2. Ty Isaac, RB
5 of 6When you're 6'2", 220 pounds and possess solid downhill speed, agility and instincts as a RB, colleges are going to come after you. So it is with Ty Isaac, an RB prospect from Illinois.
His size, length, speed and ability at the receiver position are attracting some big offers for him. Michigan is one; USC, Ohio State and Notre Dame are also interested.
1. Su'a Cravens, DB
6 of 6Cravens is a premiere DB prospect from California. He stands 6'1", 205 pounds and is a fantastic athlete with solid speed, quick feet, explosiveness to close and physicality to plug in the run game.
