WWE: Why Vickie Guerrero Needs One More Wrestler in Her Stable
It's hump-day everybody!
Mid-week is here and only 48 hours left until the weekend. Fear not, my time passes by quickly so I will do everyone a favor and drag you with me.
Have you noticed how much heat Vickie Guerrero draws out from people ever since she arrived at WWE?
The woman is far beyond your typical "heel." There are Superstars and Divas trying their best at making people hate them yet end up with the "go away" label, not a good place if you think of becoming an all-time great.
They need a manager. Someone who can make all the difference, like Vickie Guerrero.
She has brought out the best (or worst) in people. Through her, characters such as Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger are beginning to escape the dog's life of a mid-carder and become relevant. Others in the past have done an excellent job and became world-famous, legendary characters in WWE history.
This is like a magic touch and it should be encouraged. Vickie Guerrero should go ahead and recruit other members of the roster into her fold.
Excuse me, EXCUSE ME! It is my pleasure to introduce to you, the reasons why I believe The Cougar needs to have an expanded stable.
Stables Appeal to Nostalgic Fans
1 of 4Remember the golden age of pro-wrestling in the 1980s and 1990s?
Managers and valets were as important and relevant as practically any Superstar. The roster was often divided into faces and heels or heroes and villains, if you will.
The villains, often cheaters, usually had a trump card up their sleeve and that was the manager. Great legends like Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart were made famous because of their constant meddling and through them we were blessed with the early versions of Bret "Hitman" Hart, "Ravishing" Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect to name a few.
You didn't know what to do with some people? Shove them in a stable. Athletic and promising Superstars can't speak to save their life? Place them in a stable with a voice that could bend steel.
It's a simple recipe.
Vickie Guerrero makes sense of Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. She brought a certain oomph to Edge's character. The WWE needs her character because she leads the performers into relevance.
Appealing to older fans is always wise, too. The 30+ people have more disposable income, and catering to their nostalgia will ensure more money going to the WWE coffers.
Having More People Legitimizes Her Status as a Manager
2 of 4Vickie Guerrero has what it takes to turn an otherwise boring mid-carder into a future Superstar.
This missing link can be inserted in other divisions of WWE as well. Tag Teams like Primo and Epico are thriving because they are good athletes, but what interests us is Rosa Mendes, the key figure in that equation.
The Cougar needs a Diva in there or some other male Superstar alongside Ziggs and Swags in order for her to officially get that "manager" status. More people means more options. You could have that one single major player, the tag team and the Diva: that's a minimum of three different titles to go after.
Wouldn't Tamina be a fine addition to the Guerrero clan? Or perhaps Vickie's own daughter, Shaul, once she leaves the FCW. Either way, having Vickie on episodes of RAW and SmackDown every week definitely makes it a more enjoyable experience.
Villainous Superstars and Divas don't really have to be loud and vocal at first as long as they are destructive. So let Her Cougarness do all the talking; she does it so well and knows how to push people's buttons.
Her Rise in Power Would Be Beneficial to the Divas Division
3 of 4It comes down to women in power.
There hasn't been a woman president yet, but that will eventually change (no, not you Sarah Palin!) and it should be quite interesting to see.
In WWE, we will always have the first lady in the late Miss Elizabeth and the Sensational Queen Sherri Martel. Those women are as much a part of the company's legacy as any McMahon and have since become immortalized forever.
Vickie Guerrero is that next great woman of wrestling or sports-entertainment, whatever you like best. She needs to get more people in her stable for her own sake and that of all Divas.
If she gets enough people talking about her, then she'd gain more power and might be able to pull the ladies out of that disastrous ride they are on.
It's not for nothing, you know...Vickie must obviously know what she is doing and it spells good news for the women of the company. First, you start with her and at the same time you have a great Divas feud with Beth Phoenix and Kharma. Wouldn't that be great?
What if she gets Natalya in her stable? Inserting herself in the Divas of Doom arc would most likely elevate the other two.
If she is as smart and manipulative as I expect, she already has plans for something like this down the road.
Don't forget she is a Guerrero, and that name is highly praised in this business. Someday, she may even surpass the legacy of her own late husband, Eddie.
Who Needs Vickie? Show of Hands, Please
4 of 4There you have it.
Just a few reasons why Vickie Guerrero needs more people around her. She is a heat magnet, a recipe for success and a good-luck charm. Taking her off television would be a huge mistake.
Those who are aligned with her are the lucky ones, not the other way around. If you take a look at the current roster, you would have at least 10 deemed "useless" characters there begging for some Guerrero attention.
Lady Luck may have come to WWE in the form of "The Cougar," but be careful. If you cross her, there will be hell to pay.
She is one dominant Diva!
