2012 NCAA Tournament Bracketology

Jonathan GoodmanJun 7, 2018

A little late, but this week's Bracket Predictions are in. Same format as before.

Of course, there are changes due to the past week's results. Changes include Dayton's exit from the field, BYU and Arizona entering the tournament and Cincinnati BARELY holding on to their slot in the field of 68.

Again, I would love to hear your comments about those who were snubbed and those who got undeservedly.

I also changed up the #1 seeds a little bit, adding Mizzou after their big Kansas win and taking UNC down to a #2 seed. Had Kansas won that game (which they should have), I would have had Kansas as a #1 seed.

Keep in mind, this prediction based on results BEFORE Monday's slate of games.

Come back next week for an updated bracket prediction!

The Last Four in and out of the NCAA Tournament

5 of 5

LAST FOUR IN:

BYU Cougars (20-6, 8-3) RPI: 41, SOS: 65

Seton Hall Pirates (15-8, 4-7) RPI: 33, SOS: 12

Arizona Wildcats (16-8, 7-4) RPI: 62, SOS: 62

Cincinnati Bearcats (16-7, 6-4) RPI: 95, SOS: 164

FIRST FOUR OUT:

Ole Miss Rebels (14-8, 4-4) RPI: 52, SOS: 56

Colorado State Rams (15-7, 4-3) RPI: 24, SOS: 5

UCF Golden Knights (17-6, 6-3) RPI: 63, SOS: 116

Miami (FL) Hurricanes (14-7, 5-3) RPI: 38, SOS: 44

NEXT FOUR OUT:

Texas Longhorns (14-9, 4-6) RPI: 66, SOS: 17

Saint Joseph's Hawks (15-9, 5-4) RPI: 43, SOS: 23

Arkansas Razorbacks (16-7, 4-4) RPI: 59, SOS: 61

Pittsburgh Panthers (15-9, 4-7) RPI: 65, SOS: 19

I couldn't pull the trigger on Cincinnati. It doesn't even have anything to do with the Bearcats—its more a product of Ole Miss, Colorado State and Texas not playing themselves in.

Miami and Pitt have arrived on the bubble scene and if they can continue their streak they will easily make the NCAA Tournament.

The one problem with Miami is their non-conference record is essentially negated by Reggie Johnson's injury and DeQuan Jones' suspension.

Pitt has put themselves in this position thanks to a very weak non-conference schedule and an 0-7 start to Big East play. Tray Woodall is back now and they seem to be making a push for the NCAA Tournament, but they need a big win or two to impress me. This Sunday's game at Seton Hall is a play-in game for next week's bracketology.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment with your thoughts!
