Top 5 Players (Other Than Tiger) to Watch at Pebble Beach
All eyes will be on Tiger Woods this week at Pebble Beach when he makes his 2012 PGA Tour debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
However, we shouldn't count out the rest of the field just yet. There are a few other players that should get some of our attention becasue they will have legitimate chances at winning.
5. John Huh
1 of 5The bottom line is that this kid can play.
In his rookie season, he's made the cut in his first three starts and finished T-6 and T-12 in his last two tournaments.
He's hitting fairways, hitting greens and putting lights-out, so keep an eye on the leader board at Pebble Beach for this youngster.
4. Spencer Levin
2 of 5Spencer Levin tied for fourth in 2011 at Pebble Beach.
He's playing well this year and has made a perfect four out of four cuts. He has a third-place finish last week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open after a poor final-round (75) lost him the tournament.
But, Kyle Stanley also had the lead and finished poorly on Sunday the week prior and came back to win in Phoenix.
I don't see any reason why Levin can't do the same and bounce back splendidly.
3. Phil Mickelson
3 of 5Lefty's been struggling so far this year.
He's been dealing with a lot of family health issues and other personal issues, and it's clearly affected his game.
Phil has had a little time to recover and to refocus, and I think he's going to come back with guns blazing.
2. D.A. Points
4 of 5Defending champ D.A. Points is off to a great start in 2012.
In four tournaments, he has one top-25 finish and two top-10 finishes.
Points is putting great. If he can keep it up this weekend, he'll have a good chance at defending his title.
1. Dustin Johnson
5 of 5I think it's Dustin Johnson's week.
After a bit of a rough start to the 2012 season, due in part to injury, Johnson comes back to Pebble Beach where he's won twice in the past. He'll be looking to score win No. 1 this year.
Pebble Beach is a short course, and Johnson bombs it off the tee. When his putter turns on, Johnson will be the winner again, for the third time.
