WWE Monday Night Raw: 5 Predictions for Tonight's Show

Kaleb KelchnerJun 1, 2018

Bleacher Report is gearing up for the Feb. 6 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, and in preparation, we've rounded up the top five predictions for tonight's show.

Last week on Raw the WWE Universe was treated to a show that was so good, it arguably eclipsed the Royal Rumble itself.

Daniel Bryan and CM Punk faced each other in a Champion vs. Champion match after tensions arose between the two due to some John Laurinaitis pot-stirring.

The match ended with Daniel Bryan winning by disqualification when Chris Jericho came out and threw him out of the way, clearing the path to CM Punk. Jericho hit Punk with the Code Breaker, and left him laying in the ring.

At the end of the show, Triple H was fully prepared to fire John Laurinaitis after drawing out his critique of the Interim Raw GM. As Triple H was about to make it official, the Undertaker returned in dramatic fashion to challenge Triple H to a match at WrestleMania.

Triple H apparently turned down the dead man, and left him in the ring to close out the show.

There's only 55 days until WrestleMania, and the WWE won't be slowing down tonight.

The Miz and Kofi Kingston Cross Paths Two Weeks in a Row

1 of 5

With Elimination Chamber (or "Elimination pay-per-view," as John Laurinaitis called it last week) just around the corner, I expect that we'll see some of the mid-card names that are in the Raw Chamber match will get some feuds going.

I'm picking The Miz to cross paths with Kofi Kingston once again this week. Last week, these two put on a very good match that had Kofi coming out on top. This was a big legitimate victory for Kofi in singles competition, and shows that there is life after the death of Air Boom.

Miz may be looking for revenge this week, but I wouldn't be shocked to see R-Truth getting involved in an angle with Miz either.

Beth Phoenix Continues to Be Booked Strong

2 of 5

Kharma is back in the WWE, and the Divas division is about to be rocked.

Beth Phoenix has had a bit of a mean streak as of late, and it's largely due to the Divas division needing a champion that doesn't look like a total squash match against Kharma. I doubt we'll actually see Kharma this week, but we'll definitely see Beth crush a Diva, maybe Alicia Fox?

Bonus Prediction

Brodus Clay is going to get Funky.  I know, I'm really going out on a limb there.

Triple H Tries to Fire John Laurinaitis Once Again

3 of 5

All signs pointed to the beloved Johnny Ace receiving the boot last week on Raw, as Triple H made a fool out of him and was ready to get revenge on the man who usurped him.

Unfortunately for fans and Triple H himself, he was interrupted by the Undertaker, and he didn't get to seal the deal with Laurinaitis.

Although it would be a treat to see Triple H pick up where he left off with Laurinaitis, I'm predicting that we'll see something come in between him and the firing of Laurinaitis once again. The big question there is, what could possibly stop Triple H this week, aside from the Undertaker's direct intervention?

John Cena Shies Away from Hate Despite Kane's Antics

4 of 5

The ongoing John Cena/Kane will surely play out on television screens tonight, that much is given.

Kane went after Eve Torres once again last week, but was battered by an enraged John Cena. Cena grabbed the steel steps and steamrolled the big red machine.

However, Kane managed to escape through the crowd before getting put through a table with an Attitude Adjustment.

This week, expect John Cena to cool his jets a bit as not to "embrace the hate" too much. That doesn't mean that Kane won't be pushing him to do so though, but definitely expect Kane to push as many of Cena's buttons as possible while he has his attention.

CM Punk and Chris Jericho Duel on the Microphone

5 of 5

Last week, the long-awaited Chris Jericho/CM Punk angle began with a bang. Jericho took the stance that actions speak louder than words (no surprise coming from a man who's yet to cut a real promo since returning) and attacked CM Punk during his match with Daniel Bryan.

CM Punk isn't one to let this slide, and he'll definitely be calling out Jericho tonight on Raw. At some point, Jericho will have to answer. I'm picking tonight to be the night we get a (likely to be small) taste of CM Punk and Chris Jericho dueling on the mic.

If WWE wants to keep up the momentum from last week's Raw, they need to put their best foot forward, and by that, I mean put these two in front of each other and let them start shooting.
