NFL MVP 2011 Predictions: Drew Brees Deserves to Be Honored with Aaron Rodgers
The NFL's MVP Award is not a "what have you done for me lately" kind of award, but this year there is a bit of that involved.
Aaron Rodgers put up absolutely ridiculous numbers during the Green Bay Packers' 15-1 season.
He threw 45 touchdown passes, only six interceptions and 4,643 yards on 68.3 percent passing and broke the record for single-season quarterback rating.

Drew Brees' numbers were staggeringly similar. He threw 46 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions and a record-breaking 5,476 yards on a record-breaking 71.2 percent passing.
The Packers lost their only game of the season in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Saints lost three of their first eight games and then ripped off eight straight victories to close the season. From Week 12 to Week 17, Brees threw 23 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
Rodgers, who didn't play Week 17, closed his final six weeks of the season with 17 touchdowns, three interceptions and one loss.
Both quarterbacks put up record-breaking numbers in various categories and helped their teams into the postseason. It doesn't matter that both of them lost in the divisional round of the postseason. Although it is the last thing we remember, the award is for regular season.
Although it took Brees a little while to warm up, both he and Rodgers were the best in the league and were the reason their teams were what they were.
The best statistical season isn't what makes an MVP. When push comes to shove, these two were equally valuable to their football teams all year long.
Only twice in NFL history has there been co-MVPs. This year, both Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees deserve that honor.
