Auburn Football Recruiting: Players Who Will Make Immediate Impact for Tigers

Tim KeeneyJun 7, 2018

National Signing Day is upon us and the madness has officially begun. Auburn University could still see some players go either way, but for the most part, its class is set.

While some might be disappointed with this year's "haul," it is still a Top-20 class. There are still players who will make an immediate impact.

Ricky Parks, Ath

The fact that Parks could potentially be a very good dual-threat quarterback just speaks to how valuable he will be when he eventually settles down as a tight end.

At 6'4", 230 pounds, Parks certainly has the size of an ideal tight end, but he couples that with a high IQ, sneaky athleticism and by being difficult to bring down in open space.

Auburn doesn't utilize the tight end all that much, but they have shown they like to go to Philip Lutzenkirchen when in the red zone. Adding another big target like Parks could immediately make a difference.

Ja'Quay Williams, WR

Usually, it's hard for wide receivers to make an instant impact, but this Tigers offense needs a shot in the arm, and Williams is a special talent.

He still needs to add some weight, but he's tall and he can really go up and grab the ball in traffic. Williams has terrific hands and he looks like an immediate red-zone threat for this team.

Where he lacks is speed. He has solid quickness and acceleration, but his top speed isn't exactly top notch. It appears Williams might have to rely on his solid route running. However, in the red zone, that won't be that big of a problem.

Patrick Miller, OT

At 6'7", 255 pounds, Miller absolutely needs to add 30 or 40 pounds. What makes him really special, though, is his athleticism.

He has quick feet, is a fantastic blocker in space (pulling, trapping, second level) and displays good finishing. If the former LSU commit puts on some more weight, he's going to be scary good. At his current weight, he won't make much of an impact, but his ceiling is high and the potential is there.

Don't be surprised if you see him on the field during his freshman season.
