National Signing Day Predictions: Florida and Teams That Will Celebrate Big Days
National signing day is going to be the best or worst day of the year for college programs; there is no in between. Coaches and recruiters have been scrambling in order to land the best players in the country and lay the foundation for their future.
Top prospects are going to keep teams on edge, but that is the fun of this whole process. We already have a good idea of what to expect, though anything can happen with teenagers.
Still, there are a few teams that have already locked up solid—or better—recruiting classes that can take a giant leap forward today.
Here are three programs that will want to throw a big party after Wednesday's national signing day.
Florida Gators
The Gators struggled in Will Muschamp's first year as head coach, but there is plenty of good young talent already on the roster, and more help is on the way.
They already have the No. 4 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com. Things will get even better for this team if everything goes right today.
Stefon Diggs, the top athlete still left on the board, is not expected to make his announcement today, but the Gators are quietly lurking in the water waiting to snatch him up.
They have a lot of work to do, but it is not out of the question that they end up with the top recruiting class in the country when all is said and done.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Bo Pelini is sweating things out right now. The Cornhuskers have fallen out of the top 25 recruiting classes, but there is hope that things will get much better by the end of National Signing Day.
Offensive tackle Andrus Peat has Big Red high on his list, with the general consensus being that he will decide between them or Stanford. His brother Todd is already playing in Lincoln, so that could give them an edge.
Athlete Alonzo Moore might end up being Nebraska's best get of the day. He appears to favor the Cornhuskers over the other schools that have made him an offer. He will give this team a versatile player with tremendous upside that they can build around on offense or defense.
Missouri or Arkansas
This one is a bit of a cop-out, but top wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is more than likely going to end up as a Tiger or Razorback.
Arkansas was long thought to be the favorite for DGB's services, but the whispers surrounding Missouri have gotten louder over the last few days. He is a true game-changer thanks to his size, speed and immediate impact he can have in 2012.
The Tigers are the new dog in the SEC, and this would be a major coup for them on National Signing Day.
